I'm listening this and can't I believe how blind a sheep can be. Bethesda has been doing all these things for years (bait & switch, outdated engine, bad optimization, bugs, etc.), but they awoke just now. It's embarrassing.

I guess in the past games had enough fun for them so they ignored glaring flaws but now that the honeymoon is over they finally noticed they actually married a fat, ugly, demanding sjw bitch.

Truthfully the time to have gotten woke to Bethesda was at the very start with Arena. They lied about it. So it was pretty much par for the course there. Even back then people were calling out their shit.
Morrowind was the only title that they didn't lie about.

Arena had pretty bad graphics for its time, and the attack animations and speed were pretty borked. Your arm basically blurs and you have movement everywhere, firing off attacks at 10 strikes per second. It was nuts. Ultima Underworld was far, FAR better.

However, it had an undeniable... appeal...

It is rather interesting to see that it's the Xbox-PS4 reviews that gave the game the lowest metacritic scores on average. 49% average Xbox score with 2 positive, 12 mixed and 11 negative reviews (among those are two savage reviews that gave it 20%, the lowest recorded score), 50% average on PS4 with 1 positive, 16 mixed and 9 negative reviews, and 55% average on PC with 3 positive, 18 mixed and 5 negative reviews.

And, of course, you can still find that special crowd which argues that "Well, *I* liked the game, therefore all the haters are just hoping on the hate train just for the clicks/views and probably didn't even play the game before reviewing it". Bethestards never change.

Why FudgeMuppet won't make any Fallout 76 build videos (like they did for Skyrim and Fallout 4):

tl;dw: As everyone starts as a blank slate and perk cards are random, you cannot really plan out or follow any build. The ability to swap out perks at any time makes any choice meaningless, anyway. Fallout 76 only allows "roleplaying" on the level CoD does (which, as the guy states, isn't really roleplaying in the game sense).

That dev came to Obsidian after New Vegas, so he wasn't involved in the development of New Vegas. Just a clickbait title to get views.

Ugh, I hated that shit in Twitcher 3, I REALLY hope it doesn't become a standard in other RPGs.

Considering the technical issues are a result of Bethesda Maryland's neglect of their tech for the past 20 years and the major decisions were probably a directive from Maryland, I hope people realize that Austin shouldn't suffer as a result of this.

Also I don't think it's a hot take at all to say that TESO is the best Elder Scrolls since Morrowind and Daggerfall. Not exactly a high bar but at least with TESO they let the Elder Scrolls be weird again. It's a labor of love and the loremaster is awesome. In Skyrim and Oblivion, it's no higher fantasy than Game of Thrones without reading the lore books.

I don't think there should be any room for confusion on who fucked up here. It wasn't id Software. It wasn't Arkane. It wasn't Zenimax Online. It wasn't Bethesda Austin or Bethesda Montreal. Bethesda Maryland deserved to be named and shamed going forward.

Well, you're not wrong. I see TESO taking a similar place to Fallout Tactics under the Elder Scrolls banner. A fairly good entry compared to other main titles and spin offs.
