Ugh, I hated that shit in Twitcher 3, I REALLY hope it doesn't become a standard in other RPGs.

Maybe I have a bad memory, but can't swap perks at ay time in TW3. You need the respec potion.

Not exactly, you'll get way more perk points than perk slots, and the perk slots are swapable so you can have different "builds" you can switch to at any time. The respec potions are only there for when you realize you've spent too many perk points on useless perks. Either way the straighforward perk tree of the previous games was far superior to this casul shit.

Todd Howard's Sex Dungeon - Send Help
Joe actually paid shekels for the game instead of doing a YongYea and getting the game for free. Guess the Dorito pope told Todd not to send him a gift basket.
Any one notice how fat he is now. God damn Irate Enrique you need to start jumping over the wall some more, might loose a few pounds. Lay off the taco bell hombre.

I love how badly Todd lied at E3. Like he wrote one hell of a blank cheque this time. I'm genuinely expecting backlash either at the VGAs this year or at E3 next year. Cannot wait. Super hyped as fuck for that.
I want Todd humiliated.

Not really.
As much as the guy sometimes annoys me, since he just doesn't seem knowledgeable about games and their development, and he puts out some really uninformed stuff. But he usually does put a lot of effort into his review production.
In this case, he was just clearly so pissed at it all - and everything has been said already by other people - so I find it rather understandable that this was not a full effort review. I mean, what good would a high effort review do for a low effort game?

Remember the NoClip videos that shilled this garbage, undoubtedly paid for by Bethesda while at the same time taking Patreon money.

2018 brought us Fallout 76, Metal Gear Survive, and Sea of Thieves. This is the future of AAA game development. In an effort to cut costs, the game part of videogames will be stripped out as publishers attempt to sell this as a bold revolutionary design step that allows players to make their own fun. Don't tell me to improvise a football match with a brick and a half-eaten Mars Bar, then expect me to pay for the privilege. Having fun with friends is not evidence that the tools (or lack thereof) should be credited. If there's any fun to be had, it will be in spite of those tools, not because of them.

Not gonna happen, they'll be sucking Todd's rod again the moment ES6 is announced and proclaim him the savior of video games once more.

You do have to understand that most of his fans and followers are moronic imbeciles with the intellect of a potato and the memory span of a goldfish.

Suddenly out of nowhere I've been seeing people defend the game by saying it's all one big hate-train run by reviewers and that we need to play first before our opinions matter. Where were these people when Battlefront 2 or NMS came out?

Baseless suit from glorified ambulance chasers. Typical strategy: make a lot of noise about a popular/notable issue in the news, hope you can press the company enough to get a settlement, and then get your 40% contingency off the top from any settlement when members of the class get like $10 each. Lawsuits like these are only useful for enriching the lawyers involved.

Dead State Divinity: Original Sin
If they just release a barebone co-op expansion to F4 for $30 they'd save a lot of money and goodwill.
They're not ready for MMO. The lack of live support team with GM tools is evidence of that.

With the amount of money they're making they could've made their own engine with similar structure, but it's obviously more profitable to simply use this one and re-brand it from time to time.

All of this while they have id Tech under their noses they could've turned into their own Frostbite many years ago.

The point is that Gamebryo works when other studios use it. Or in other words: it's all due to Bethesda's ineptitude.

Pretty much, I was looking at the list and found that Rift uses it, Catherine uses it and the problems seem to be just with Bethesda games, hell Evil Within uses it and I am sure there are some bugs but still ... besides Bethesda made other games without the Gamebryo engine, Morrowind for example and it was filled with bugs.

If they used Unreal that a well known and established engine they would still create bug ridden messes because this is due to studio culture were at this point 2-3 generations of developers work on a game with the notion that they can always patch it later, that there is not much QA going on at least on bug fixing level were they might just fix the obvious game breaking but let the "lower priority" ones to remain instead of fixing then.

Because they are retarded.

They have id Tech and dont license it, its their Frostbite but this is were they differ from EA were Frostbite was mandated on all EA studios ... they had no choice but Todd Howard seems to have the power within Zenimax to say "I dont wanna" and they let him and since Toddler Boy doesnt want to learn a new engine they will keep using Gamebryo until he either leaves (willing or unwilling) or they force him to do it (meaning, do it or you are out). Zenimax wants to be EA but their ineptitude and poor treatment of non-ZeniMax owned studios doesnt let them, they are only relevant in the sense the number of publishers been diminishing and even with that they are still not relevant as a publisher because nobody wants to be fucked by them and I am sure what they did with Arkane and tried to do with Talking Heads is something studios know.

the evil within is powered by id tech (the same as Rage, Wolfenstein the New order and Dishonored 2).

Morrowind's NetImmerse is an old version of Gamebryo.

Yes, I managed somehow to confuse it as being Gamebryo as the last Gamebryo game was in 2015.

Morrowind's NetImmerse is an old version of Gamebryo.
Let me correct this.

What I mean was Daggerfall that used the XnGine, the XnGine was a inhouse developed engine created for Terminator: Future Shock and its sequel Skynet, it was also used by the less talked about TES games, Battlespire and Redguard as well intended to be used in Morrowind but the idea was dropped.

I have now checked Arena and no mention of what engine it uses (likely inhouse since its 1994) but here is a part of a review "... a tightening of the code, a little polishing up of the basic engine ..." and this come from Computing Gaming World Journalist, Scorpia.

Gamebryo is fine for a certain kind of game but by no means is it a solid technical foundation in the way that Source is built on top of idTech and UE4 is built on top of Unreal 1. Equating their 20 year old tech to everyone else's 20 year old tech is insane. Keep in mind they've stacked tons of middleware implementations on top of an already not so great foundation and you have a recipe for disaster.

The worst thing you could do to the Toddler would be, that the assembled press sheeps deny him his celebrity feeling during his presentation.
No constant cheering when he shows something that "just works", no standing ovations when you can climb a mountain just because you can see it. Not even boo/hiss. Just.... silence.

Next day the police would look for a missing person, a "middle aged man, average looks, below average height". If you have seen him please call Pete. He is worried sick. :hahano:
