Man, these are some hot next-gen graphics.

There are several things wrong with that picture, bad graphics being the least important of them.

What are the LB and RB prompts for? Aim (can't really see at what though)? Run and stick to next cover? Something else?

I feel you bros, that brick wall totally looks like a generic win98 wallpaper.
The immershun is ruined.

A small glimpse of hope on that picture: assault rifle shot does 4 max damage, the soldier has 5 HP. Impossible to say for sure, but it bodes well for on-assignment lethality.

Next/previous seen enemy, most likely.

finally we can have the compelling camera angle viewpoint that julian gollop envisioned but did not have the technology to implement

I see they hired rob liefeld for the xcom uniform, complete with the screenshot not showing feet

I kinda miss that tactical FPS, X-COM Alliance, that Microprose once had in development. Played the pre-Alpha and thought it had so much potential. Really loved the eerie atmosphere in it.

This shit looks way too cartoony, but that's to be expected from Firaxis.

In the window
Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Will there be unlimited laser gun ammo and plasma guns that loses all ammo after mission if I fire one shot? I want to unload all plasma ammo before finishing the mission damnit!

Great UI. Assault rifle icon looks like a toy, kids will love that. The UI stlye doesn't fit in with some of the backgrounds which (still) look way too grown up.

Not sure if that has been posted before, but there's a rather lengthly gameplay video there (German commentators are annoying as ass though):

I get the feeling that the XCOM Shooter from 2K Marin will turn out to play more tactically than....this. Should have stayed PC exclusive. It worked with Civilization too, after all.

Audio must be turned off, the commentary contains a level of stupidity that's unbearable.

In terms of presentation, I hoped for a more...well, oppressed, eerie and frightening atmosphere, both in terms of art style and music. This just looks like they're aiming for 10 year old kids. And the Aliens looks like monkies and gorillas.

Yep. The mutons are really off the mark, but that was well known. I'd rather have them more menacing and less orky/gorilla like.
Thank goodness I kept the audio off, I guess.

where's the fucking tension? this shit looks like a saturday morning cartoon action episode

all it needs is a scene where it cuts to an ethereal screaming "MUST I DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?!" after he sees his bumbling mutons get massacred

This game looks to be even worse than I anticipated, fucking travesty from Firaxis, even with it's flaws, Civilization 5 is pretty good game. How much deeper Firaxis can fall from the grace. :mob:

Maybe Sid Meier should have been involved, after all...

Even Civ Revolution (console only) didn't reek of so much decline. But I still haven't given up completely on it yet.
