Yeah, it's always the tutorial with this game. And if the end credits are jacked up for some reason, it will still be "But it's just the tutorial bruh."

I skipped around a long video from some German games site that showed the tutorial mission and it's way more locked down than that, like move this guy to this spot, move this guy to this spot, shoot now from here, etc. in classic "FUCKING LET ME PLAY" boring tutorial fashion.
Got a link to that?

Thanks. And also damn you for scaring me about Xcom! Or at least, scaring me about Xcom after I preordered. If you had scared me before I wouldn't be in this situation since I could've waited for popamole decline shit to be confirmed after release.

So that game is a tb popamole with your team being able to pop moles even through their cover? Quite an innovation indeed :incline:

After the RPS feature I was this close to pre-ordering this thing. Glad I didn't. Guess I'll just fire up ye olde UFO once more and keep my fingers crossed Xenonauts will turn out well.

what's bad is the heavy scripting and the discrepancy between sectoid instakilling somebody vs sectoid doing a whooping 2 dmg from a full hit on the same difficulty and tech level in a different mission.
ah well, at least there are two difficulties above normal...

Everything in that video that was scripted etc was the fucking tutorial - which you can disable right at the start....

The only thing bad about that video were those two unbearable Jerries talking shit without interruption. As for the game itself, it's the beginning. It always starts simple, and expect depth and difficulty to ramp up.

Yeah sure, I'm certain mid-game opens brand new challenges.

"Hey, should I take the pink suit or the blue suit this time? I think this armour doesn't work with the new hairstyle."

fuck, that's bad.

serves me right for preordering i guess.

And yet you don't cancel your preorder.

So quit pretending like you dislike what you see.

Bro don't you know if a game is a dumb shit in every single video and preview it will totally turn into a JA2 killer 5 minutes after the so called "tutorial section" (which is, strangely, always the length of the full game) ends.

I wonder where all those "tutorial sections" were in good games like JA2 or SS.

and is the point of a tutorial not teaching you game mechanics and giving a proper introduction into the game? if you introduce scripted shit in the tutorial that instakills most of your troopers and gives the appearance that enemies cause way more dmg and thus are much more dangerous than they actually do in live missions, it means your tutorial is just bad.. but it certainly explains the over cautious indecisive behavior in that other vid earlier.
why they haven't gone with a soft tutorial that just explains options as you hove over or use them is beyond me.

- which you can disable right at the start....
and only there, too, it seems. at least i know beforehand that it's shit and seems it's off on impossible anyway.

And yet you don't cancel your preorder.

Nuff said.
yeah, i still have that shimmering hope that impossible with its increased enemy count, dmg and resistance, lower soldier hp and allegedly different ai as well as worse starting conditions will make it into a decent puzzle tactics game.

considering many of our so-called "hardcore" players who always rage decline over Bethesda-games and the like openly admit that they won't wear clearly better armor if its uglier than what they've got on, this should be right up the Codex' alley

also, do you have any info that they are changing equipment in this regard or are you just being retarded

thought so

meh, Xenonauts will be better anyway

I dunno?

Classic X-COM Soldier: Players will instantly receive a new recruit in their barracks inspired by the original X-COM: UFO Defense. The iconic soldier with the blonde, flattop hairstyle will return fully modernized.
Soldier Deco Packs: Players can customize their soldier with several aesthetic upgrades to armor suits, including the new Hyperion and Reaper soldier armor kits.
Complete Color Customization: A variety of colors and tints for all armor sets in the game allow players complete control to customize their squad’s look.

Dick is over there, you may proceed. Remember to use a lot of saliva.

I fail to see how a customizable colour palette so you can identify your guys excludes the equipment we know from X-COM

If you can provide some information on how this exclusion is happening, I shall proceed to salivate in preparation for the recieval of your cock

O.K.

The game will be so easy that a seasoned veteran of real strategy games will be able to finish the whole campaign with the starter equipment. Someone who completed the original UFO on superhuman difficulty will be able to play the game through using only one hand, while wearing a bag over their head (provided that someone occasionally empties the bag from the vomit - rape of the IP may induce gag reflex).

...except no veteran will even pirate that piece of console shit in the first place.
