At least they should have been experiment on a better game... and a much meaningful DLC...

I don't see it as an experiment really. If they want to sell new games DLC is a part of that. Not sure what the complainers want them to do, not sell DLC and make GOG versions shittier?

Yeah, I don't really get the complaint. I mean I get the complaint about DLCs, but I don't understand why such a big uproar over this. GOGs main schtick is DRM-free, and this stuff still is. If you want to buy it fine, if not then don't. Simple. I think a lot of the people who are RAEGing seem to forget that the older games are sold in complete versions with all the add-ons already on, is because that those games are, well, old, so 'gold' packs for them have already been out. This game is new so it would be retarded to just offer it for free to those who have already purchased the base game.

Yes, you should have. There's only one solution: buy both :D.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
I have HoMM3 and Eador. Out of the rest, I think I should pick up KoDP. I didn't play much of it back in the day, but enjoyed being wiped out brutally in the few attempts I tried.

I think the uproar is about the pricing, not the existence of DLCs. 5 dollars for a new henchman, a weapon, and a district. I think it is not much, but it seems the GOG users disagree.

Omerta got two stars and the DLC got one star. This seems overly harsh as the infamous Daikatana squeaks by both with 2.5 stars. GOG ratings are usually quite skewed, too, so a bad game usually only get 3 or 3.5 stars. Only Gothic 3 Enhanced Edition falls between Omerta and the Omerta DLC. Master of Orion 3 is the only other 2 star game on the list. Is the game really that bad? I thought Codexers were looking forward to this one.

I'm pretty sure they're trolling the review scores because DLC=evil.

We were looking forward to the game but its execution was fairly lacking. The economics layer of the game was pretty unambitious and sser summed the game's weaknesses up pretty well here http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/inde...s-incline-and-fails.77166/page-5#post-2479808. He also pointed out ways the game could be improved upon 2 posts below. It was one of those games that felt like it might get better the further you got away from the first mission but that turned out to be the case. Combat was actually decent at times and you could build characters pretty differently but everything was just kind of uninspired. As far as the scores are concerned I could see them also being the result of unfulfilled expectations as people were kind of expecting more from the game based on early previews.

They are fucking awesome. Do it faggot.

Also check out
http://pharaoh.heavengames.com/
http://zeus.heavengames.com/
for hints and strategies. These games can be hard if you simply dive into them and don't know what you're doing.

As for which one is better, I would say Pharaoh is more complex, but Zeus is a bit more accessible (still doesn't mean that it's a piece of cake).
When it comes to the Impression Studios building games here is the order of difficulty from the easiest to hardest:
Zeus
Pharaoh
Caesar 3

I'd say get Zeus first, and if you feel that you've mastered it it's time to move on to the previous instalment. Playing them in chronological order (release dates) will likely have an adverse effect on your enjoyment.

Those games were indeed hard. In Caesar3, when your city grew and started having patricians you really felt you were achieving something.

Doesn't seem to be there but they've added a couple of Apogee platformers recently so they may just not have got around to it yet.
