American politics are retarded. How is the individual freedom to own a firearm not a liberal policy? Literally the LIBERTY to own a firearm, to protect your LIBERTY.
You realize this is universally the case, right? European liberals aren't exactly known firearm enthusiasts...

Who in the everloving FUCK thinks that banning guns, in a country that has weapon industry as one of the main sources of income, is just something you can do overnight? Like how retarded and ignorant is that mindset. It would be a worse attempt than what happened with tobacco industry, and how long it took to get where we are today.

That's why I'm so irritated whenever someone starts talking about it. Cause they just speak about it like it's an easy matter to solve. So dumb..

Completely oblivious to the root of the problem, "durr hurr lets ban guns" without acknowledging the scope of the task or offering any sort of plan how to mitigate the loss of revenue, shift and boost another field to make this whole idea even plausable. And it would require a serious fucking plan, maybe a genius one at this day n age. Like god daym, ignorance is gonna be associated with America forever, isn't it.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
This is you? Impressed if so, I expected someone older, heavier, and uglier, as is typical of the Codex.

Any idea if Sawyer lurks the Codex and/or has read what some of us have had to say about him? Unironically curious what these game developers would have to say if they were presented with some of the common criticisms about them and their games on the Codex, in a cordial/eloquent way of course.

I’m the guy in the grey shirt. Sawyer is Sawyer. The other guy is Lawrence Liberty who produced FNV and was my business partner for over a decade. The lady laughing in background is Emilia Bogdanova, who produced the movie Malibu Road (and most of our game related videos).

Most RPG devs lurk Codex from time to time. I do. The main reason I am a semi-active poster here is because I was just a member who played games here before I worked in the game business.

Wise people say:
He’s got about 20 extra pounds of fat on him here compared to now and Malibu Road, getting AN teed up was a sedentary activity that didn’t lead to the gym very often.

Everybody lurks Codex. Henry Cavill lurks it. Gods lurk it, aliens, ghosts. This is why it is imperative to not lose focus and be as autistic authentic as possible.

Main reason I linked the vid which is totally irrelevant and deprecated now, is that Josh is not the cardboard cutout villain or hero that people think, nor is Larry, nor am I, nor is Feargus, Avellone, Fargo, et al.

We’re guys doing a job. And some of us have been great friends and some still are. Some of us have been professional adversaries and some still are.

I’ve been much more a social friend with Chris than Josh, but I’ve worked directly with Chris only twice and Josh multiple times. Josh and I probably disagree about 80% of everything political and ideological, but we never brought that into the business of making games. The production of a game is not fundamentally different from an architecturally focused skyscraper.

The individual pros might disagree on lots of stuff — but they will agree we are building a skyscraper.

A more human face to offset the marketing & money machine that surrounds cultural consumer products.

Plus the “Bush did 9/11” improv by Sawyer is way more similar to his actual day to day real life existence. He’s a joker and a smart guy. He motivated people. At least 20% of what I know about game dev I learned from Josh.

Do I agree with him politically? Not even a little bit! If we have a civil war, Josh and I probably command companies trying to kill each other.

But does any of that really matter?

No.

It’s hard enough to make a game, let alone a good one. Josh does what he thinks is best to make a good game, maybe he’s wrong maybe he’s right — he’s succeeded on the design / director of game side more than I have. I succeeded more as a producer and executive.

Did you buy a shitty Kobalt power tool from Lowe’s

It’s probably not Josh’s fault or my fault, we would have advised Milwaukee Tools or maybe a Japanese brand or Bosch if you are over 9000.

Well I'm not sure why I got quoted or what I wrote looked like, but it was nothing more than what it said. No ambiguity whatsoever.

I'm quite aware that you are as human as any of us. I do not see or expect anyone to be more human than I am, specially not to judge them when they fail to deliver such an expectation.

Video was a good one. I do not like the things that got made under Sawyer's influence, but I have nothing against him as a person. He looks like he believed in what he was doing. I actually have a desire to work on rpgs in near future, which I never mentioned so far. Doing an extensive research atm on a particular thing that caught my eye awhile ago. In any case - yeah..

"Everyone reads what is posted here. Many persons of importance might be influenced by it, so it's important that we as common posters keep writing from our deranged hearts" I'm a weird, weird foreigner.
