Dwarf Taffer
Knowing all the usual benchmark fake news, I am going to run this in medium without trouble. (I don't know how this CPU keeps winning so hard)
It has nothing to do with upscaling, it's the world and NPC density they're pushing, which requires a good CPU. But still, 7800x3d is a bit much. It should still run pretty well on weaker processors, but there will be stuttering when approaching settlements, I'm sure.L2R, those specs are without upscaling.
They've probably just set is as a baseline. I expect the difference between high and ultra to be mostly draw distance, both will probably have the same texture quality, and thus the same vram requirement. Most games these days look similar on high and ultra, it's medium and below where you start to see degradation in quality, but even then not nearly as much as in old games.I wonder what's the difference between high & ultra beside the resoultion... and if not why not show 1080p ultra specs also?
Doubt it's a hard cap. Lately I've played a couple of new games that "required" 32 GB RAM and 16 GB VRAM and didn't have any major problems, even tho my specs are half that. Only when I toggled some shit in advanced settings too high I exceeded my VRAM limit but that's trivial.Heh, I thought that maybe I would be able to play with 30 FPS cap at relatively high settings but now it looks like I will be limited by my 16 GB RAM. Did not expect such an increase in RAM requirements.
"Minimum specs" are frequently determined by finding the worst PC in the office and seeing if the game runs on it. It does? Cool, it's the minimum specs now. That it'd work on something much worse too? And how is the studio supposed to test that to make sure? Buy a dozen different toasters and keep trying until they narrow it down? Too much money and effort.Doubt it's a hard cap. Lately I've played a couple of new games that "required" 32 GB RAM and 16 GB VRAM and didn't have any major problems, even tho my specs are half that. No, use a remote PC rental that offers weaker machines, or do a closed beta to find other machines outside of the office. The former used to exist as a service, one of the reasons was specifically software testing, no idea if it still does. And at one point many games used to have a "run benchmark" option that ran a preset demo and recorded performance, which was used for this."Minimum specs" are frequently determined by finding the worst PC in the office and seeing if the game runs on it. Could be done, but ultimately, most studios really don't give a shit, and haven't given one possibly ever. I recall playing virtually every new release back in 2010s significantly below min specs (was a poorfag back then) and never had an issue. No, use a remote PC rental that offers weaker machines, or do a closed beta to find other machines outside of the office. I am a poorfag and still run a GTX 1060. No problem with KCD1 on nearly highest setting at 1080p, so I'm hopeful that KCD2 looks decent on low settings.This.
I've never been bothered by specs and never had any problems. I've played KCD1 at 2K and mostly High settings on my 5700 XT (2070 equivalent) and it was fine, I was getting 40 - 60 FPS natively.
KCD2 specs say I need 6700 XT for that now but I call bull. IGN said the game runs way better than the first one. People should chill, it'll be fine.

Meanwhile based Vávra is spending his time on social media, and he's getting smarter and smarter. Lately he claimed that aliens exist and have been visiting Earth (all the UFO sightings really are aliens) and the US government has known and been reverse engineering their technology for decades, plus of course they have alien bodies in secret facilities (use google translator camera function or something to check):
And as a complement he also claimed that astrology is real together with a dude who claims that a big part of astrology is actually scientific, his credentials are that he calls himself "Professional scribblist and AI whisperer." and begs for money for his AI art on Patreon.

KCD1 was fairly inconsistent. Frame rate could vary greatly depending on the area you were in, which needs to be taken into consideration when looking at reports on
the performance of KCD2.
I don't know whether studios give a shit, but any even half-competent publisher most certainly would. If your minimum specs are inflated beyond actual requirements, you're pointlessly restricting your potential customer base - Joe Gamer comes along, sees his rig's way under your stats and shelves any purchase plans for later, whenever he gets around to upgrading his hardware. It won't be a mass phenomenon, but in the volume publishing business, those lost customers add up.Could be done, but ultimately, most studios really don't give a shit, and haven't given one possibly ever.

I identify as a Leo.And now imagine:And as a complement he also claimed that astrology is real
- He makes a realistic game with a character creator where you HAVE to choose your star sign
- Characters in the game constantly talk about and push astrology
- Characters berate you and make you do pushups for saying astrology isn't real
- IRL Vavra claims in interviews if you don't believe in astrology you're a problem, you're toxic and something should be done about people like you
That's the difference between devs who let their views leak into the game - or whose games only exist as a platform for pushing their views - and those who don't.

Of course. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that he's a retard in general, and the one thing I respect him for very much is understanding what makes good videogames and being able to execute from that. What I do think and what I've been saying is that he's been very overconfident in completely unrelated fields due to his success and personality. Most of his politically based takes exist because he has a right set of prior biases that are in opposition with current day idiocy, not because he has brilliant critical thinking skills - he obviously doesn't, he's just a great videogame designer who despises socialists because he's a successful man who experienced actual socialism in the past. And now imagine:And as a complement he also claimed that astrology is real

He's just like us.
I wouldn't go that far.
People used to say that about Musk too.
Anyway, bottom line is that Vavra SCORED big with KCD by knowing how to make a great game, a sort of love letter to the history of Bohemia and the Czech Republic.
And now it's on to KCD 2.
