katherine and rosa are as much in the game as theresa was, which is not a lot at all
it's pretty clear romance was not a focus in either game, and why the fuck would it be, just go get laid in real life instead of getting a crush on pixels

Like I said, Katherine is barely in the game. Your other love interest, Rosa, is a bit more of a character, but she's also barely in the game compared to Hans.

Much earlier in the thread, we've had a discussion about how Kingdom Come is a czech nationalist version of the Sigismund-Wenceslas conflict

I don't know how anyone who played the first and especially second game can come to that conclusion. The game takes very balanced stance on the conflict, right from the cutscene at Pirkstein where Hanush says "this country of ours is in deep fucking shit".

You get told over and over again that sure, Wenzel IS the rightful king, but he's also a drunkard, womanizer and a weak fool, even by his allies and friends. And Sigismund and his allies kidnapped him because Bohemia and HRE can't afford such a weak, foolish ruler, with the Turk just winning the Battle of Kosovo and progressing further into Europe.

idk what is it about this game but having finished it i feel no wish to replay it, this wasn't the case for me with kcd1
there's just something missing about this game that makes it uninteresting past the first playthrough
hell i don't even want to finish the remaining side quests in freeroam after the main story quests

I'm only 70% or so through the game but I fully intend to replay in a year or so, on Hardcore.

Also lacking the desire to replay those enormous RPGs isn't indicative of anything. I'll probably never replay BG3 or Elden Ring even tho I consider both 10/10 masterpieces. They're just too gigantic and my backlog is a mile long. KCD1 is one of my fav games ever and I only replayed it once, a couple of years later on Hardcore.

Her entire attitude of snarky, self-assured, sarcastic bitch just feels like a YA writer's idea of a stronk wombyn. The whole "I'm a woman so I'm invulnerable so I can talk wild shit" thing she has going. That's very relatable and believable. In a modern woman. Not so in a medieval one. I was banging my head on my desk when she was chatting with Peter's captain and schooling him on how to train his garrison and then egging Henry to kick his ass for no good reason.

These characters are cancer in games.
Request to basedmods: add a scold's bridle and change her dialogue to 'mffpmmff mffpmmmffff' every time Henry puts it on her.

KCD 2 is an interactive movie - 80% of playtime spent in cutscenes

I don't believe in the game industry anymore, every major release is such a letdown. KCD 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, but I was struggling really hard to finish KCD 2

Most of the "gameplay" time is spent in cutscenes and being locked in dialogue. I was excited to explore the world, but instead I was greeted with a 5 minutes unskippable dialogues on horseback

When I finally arrived in Kuttenberg, I skipped every single side quest possible because I knew that I was going to be greeted with 15 minutes of yapping about some drama that I don't care about

Now that I finished the main story, I don't feel like I've played a game, I feel like I just watched a new season of a TV show. KCD 2 sucks, I'm never picking it up again.

So many people these days are so sensitive towards someone having a different opinion and voicing it. It is almost like because you bought the game and enjoy it that it is your duty to defend a publisher as big as Deep Silver. BTW, I completely agree with you OP. I really enjoyed the first map, but since I have reached the second map, I'm increasingly getting bored of listening to the dialogue and just skipping a lot now. Feels like the quality of the writing has dropped considerably. The plot is also razer-thin where the whole adventure is about how to safe Capon who is an absolute clown anyway.

Over the course of the game, I fought cumans ONE TIME - during the rapefugee quest (the one where you're clearly intended to befriend them instead). You don't fight cumans even once over the course of the main story, and I've never seen any hostile cumans on the road either. I have no idea where the iconic shot of a guy in the mask in the trailer comes from. You fight germans, praguers, czechs and even frenchmen, but never cumans. Vavra really bent the knee.

As cvv said, if you ask Vasko, he directs you to another Cuman camp, but warns you that the other Cumans are not as liberal-minded as he is.

the voice acting from some of the non story critical NPCs (this one is the most egregious but a few others are also distractingly bad)

I actually liked Betty, the voice actor delivers even serious lines in a way that got me laugh. What I didn't like in KCD1, and I've hardly seen repeated in KCD2, was American accents. It was explained in an interview that Warhorse didn't have much choice with the first game, Prague has a sizable expat voice actor community, but the problem is that they vary a lot in their accents. I assume many of them are not fully professional then.

The obvious thing to answer here is that if you play an open world game and you feel that's the proportion of cutscenes, maybe you shouldn't rush the main quest so much.

i think i spent maybe 2 hours tops in cutscenes, unless dialogues are also considered cutscenes
this is just another autist shitting on the game for no particular reason
if you're going to be shitting on it at least shit on it for the right reasons, like shit stealth, combat being worse than in kcd1, the main story feeling like a marvel movie, forced DEI inclusions, or any other questionable design decision

with that said, these types of reviews are most often just "i don't like the game, however i will write up an essay as if i were a youtuber about how everything about this game is awful" retardation
been on the receiving end of such dogshit reviews and in 99% of cases they boil down to one thing in particular bothering the person and then said person trying to come up with a laundry list of why the game sucks, but ends up spending 80% of the review ranting about that one thing that pissed him off

tl;dr this isn't worthwhile criticism of the game, it's someone's autistic ramblings

The most wise person in the Kingdom Come setting, Musa not only is skilled in medicine, history and theology, but also reads latin, speaks Czech, Hungarian, Malian, and I'd imagine every other language since he travelled across Africa, Asia and Europe. Kingdom Come 3 should be about him!
