I didn't expect anything, most kickstarter don't even deliver a game let alone a completed one and he's going to deliver it and the modules he promised.

Complaining about kickstarter money is like complaining about all the money you lost in a casino.

You just sound like children complaining because diner is not served yet...

People like you are the reason Pierre and other dipshit devs can act the way they do, and not be held accountable for their actions.
And please dont give me that "children complaining" bullshit, Frenchie in his kickstarter flat-out LIED that the 1st module is done, as in 1.0 version done, what he delivered was an early beta at best.
You people are the worst, getting buttfucked over and over by douchebags that you so feverishly keep defending, have you got no dignity? Jeez
This gentleman is right, sure pierre has the merit to adapt a 3.X , but everything was broken , barely playable . It's still in development , getting rebalanced as the mention two new options , and now hes adding sprites too.The sprites are ok, but all of it seems so incoherent now between the background and the character pictures.

Honestly, I don't really care about Pierre's lies.

Yes, the game was released in a broken state. Yes, drinking a water-breathing potion would crash your game. Yes, Pierre probably never even beat his own game.

But all of this doesn't change the fact that he is doing God's work, and that he is very passionate about it. He is delivering a videogame adaptation of D&D 3.x, who in their right mind would do that in this day and age? Should we consider the results attained by other similar projects? Should we take a look at the Realms Beyond thread? Owlcat Games has been successful, but the entire reason of their success with the general public (and not with us irrelevant grognards) is that they have the PATHFINDER name behind them.
It actually makes it more pathetic that he's really invested in this and the end result is he ripped off a bunch of people to churn out garbage. It is appropriate to cite Owlcat though, since they also ripped off a ton of people to release a game that was literally unfinishable, and they also have pathetic apologists on here making excuses for them. For a forum that's supposed to be anti-sjw, it sure is full of cucks.

It’s more pre-SJW than anti- which is enough in a nihilistic age. The cucks are the ones bending over for those who are anti- everything instead of live and let die.

Defending Pierre/Cleve/Styg is whole lotta different from defending Soyer/Sven Cucke

You are either on the right side or the wrong side

Pierre is a root eating, insane Frenchie dipshit who made 2 great games (kotc1 and 2). Kotc 2 is a great, but essentially a broken game with great mechanics but also some outright retarded shit which he tried to correct by....adding cheats -,-

Cleve is a crazed Australian hobo who made a cool game, his magnum opus, in spite of all the microissues.

Both of them are lying little fuckers.

Styg is a Slav - a Serbian geek game dev virgin who looks like he lives in a basement in Novi Sad's suburbs and drinks rakia and eats krompirusa while working on Underrail.
Of all of them he is the only one with some common sense and proper judgement (for a Serb).

Show us something that you've made under your own power there super special guy. Have you even made an actual cheesecake with your own hands?

You're talking badly here. Post something you've done that you are personally proud of, anything, lets see how handsome and skilled you are, you puddle of useless slime.

Eh people are too hard on Pierre. KotC 2 is seemingly badly balanced on not all that well-designed in some part but as people pointed out, it is a near 1 man project and he probably doesn't really have a play-taste base large enough before.

Should it be managed better? Absolutely, but really compared to the whole lot of KS, Pierre is working constantly to fulfill his of the bargain. The other 2 modules would probably require a lot longer to be made, but all things considered, improvement to the base game that he is doing now (QoL, balance fix, etc) would benefit future modules works as well considering will be in the same engine with just different content.

KOTC2 is a one man project that's more ambitious than many other team projects that are fuelled by more than roots and passion. It's more surprising to me that it runs or works at all, than the fact that it had some major bugs at launch in the first adventure, or that his sense of balance was out the window.

"Broken". The game works fine now. It seems he's addressed most of the early crashes. No clue about the later ones... I remember most of my crashes coming from the prologue, lower sewers, and the castle siege. So far it's looking good though.

Haven't needed to use any of the new settings or the character creation ones. However, I did use the point buy system to create my party, because rolling for stats is the big gay.

It's hard for me to criticise Pierre for being malicious in his practices, because, jesus christ, have you looked at the man? He barely knows where his own bathroom is. It is a minor miracle that he's ever made a functioning game, let alone a Great one, and KOTC2 is the messy, uncategorisable result that is probably a better reflection of his many ambitions and strange opinions. Hopefully he survives long enough to keep trying.

You dont need more than one guy to balance KOTC 2 , any DM can do ,and do it frequently, with stuff like that d20 Encounter Calculator :: d20srd.org , there's ton of similar tools, of course those arent perfect but its miles ahead the absurdity i witnessed. The fact the plot and the dungeon ecology makes no sense either . You only need one cook. The AI is good but everything else could easily be much better. Last time he carbon copy against the giant, there's many more ancient modules to plunder if he's not able to do it.

It would be much easier for me to accept 'it's just a one-man project, bro!' if Kotc1 also wasn't a one-man project, but it just so happened to work perfectly out of the box.

I am going to use "Have you even made an actual cheesecake with your own hands?" at every opportunity for the rest of my life. That is poetry. Please tell me it did not come from babelfish. I do not want to believe that sort of poetry comes from babelfish. Babelfish can't produce idioms like that, can it?

NO! I would rather trust that somewhere in this crazy world there exists an actual human who opens an online refutation of a stranger's opinion about a niche CRPG with a diss about cheesecake. That is the world I want to live in.

I don't know if you ask questions about cheesecake regularly, or what kind of response you get if you do. But I bet not that many people have ever made a cheesecake with their own hands. I have and like you I can innately sense when someone has never made a cheesecake with their own hands. GET SOME FUCKING CHEESECAKE HANDS. (I don't say that, but I think it really loudly).

So maybe it's not relevant to Knights of the Chalice 2, but now I know I'm not alone in judging someone by whether they've ever made a cheesecake. For that, I salute you, warcrimes666.

You have looked at the difference between the features (classes, abilities, etc.) in KOTC1 and KOTC2, right? To say there's a difference of scale is an understatement.

Come on man, i can understand disagreements and personal attacks, but dissing a great dish like cheesecake is really uncalled for. Sad!

I played and finished the game at release. During that time it was maybe one or two mini patches. Dunno about game state atm.

Here you go, esteemed sir. One of my very first rhinoplasties. Patient was very pleased with both form and function (she had a dorsal hump prior).

Now, show me YOUR cheesecake.

Holy shit. That was hard, really hard.

Last time I did this encounter. My barbarian managed to kill the Lizard King really quickly - thanks to crowd control based spells resulting in him being unable to act. Thus preventing the Hydra from being summoned. I still had to fight it after I came back to the area though. It would patrol the pool area, except without the lizard group being present. This time around however. I had to fight both the lizard group *and* the hydra. At the same time. It was a challenge. I didn't think I'd survive. But I did! WOO! What a rush! This game is like a hit of pure unadulterated dopamine rush for me. Woo baby!

Also I'm making good time with this playthrough. Last time I beat this module. It took me over two hundred hours. Total play time for this playthrough should be lower. Of course, it helps that I know all the encounters beforehand and know what to expect.

Something to know about that encounter. If most of your party has high defenses from fire. The Lizard mages will spam you with stinking cloud instead. Which has the potential to screw up your spellcasters. Better to eat up those fireballs, and force them to waste spell slots. Then heal later. That's how I did it.

Most sprites look quite good in action and perfectly fit the environment. It's a huge upgrade, I hope people who were relunctant about tokens will be aware of it.

Yeah I like them too. I hope he implements the exotic races next. Was bummed out that there were no mantis sprites.
