Fuck Tergrid's Lantern too, I need removal for creatures, pw's, enchants, and now I need to up my artifact removal too! Fucking 3 mana card that decimates me completely.
No kidding. Quickdrafts before the bots get stingy are always pleasant. Very first draft pulled me 3 mythics and 3 rares. Probably should've left myself open to pivoting since I went hard on Orzhov after a pack 1 pick 1 Kaya and then I got target fixation, but I also just kinda wanted to try playing some Orzhov in Kaldheim limited anyway. Expecting disaster though since it's mostly a lot of garbage but hey, that's the nice part with the early quickdrafts. You end up ahead even if you smash concede without even playing. On the plus side bots are generous as expected. Over 5 drafts my avg rare pull is 6.
my gold pile allows me to play 1-2 drafts daily until it ends in 2 weeks. Done that before, its important to brace for marathon. As such my gem pile will increase... I mean I hope it will. Once shuffler allows me to win that is. Still salty about my 0:3 with nice snow UG featuring some bombs, including koma. Couldnt pull snow land during matches, nor gotten more than 3 mana with koma in handEdit: In fact, fuck it. Think I'll try to get a couple wins on each draft then duck out and give free wins to people so I can draft again. The smart move of course is trying to maximize the gem-haul on every draft but I'm mainly using this as an alternative to just spending gold on packs anyway. Orzhov deck ended up not being a disaster at all and actually pretty damn fun, but as enjoyable as it was I JUST WANT MORE CARDS GOD DAMN IT.
That'd be the smart move, and I'll likely calm myself down some after my initial orgy. Only pulled one Trickery thus far but getting a decent stack of random shit. I do wonder a bit if I shouldn't go as heavy on it because even though it has a few powerhouses a lot of the cards seem like they see limited play, but eh. There's also always the hope that they'll see more use once Eldraine's done and gone.my gold pile allows me to play 1-2 drafts daily until it ends in 2 weeks. Now the dreadfully important question of if I want to preemptively craft Trickery or not. Only pulled one from drafts over the weekend so far. Kind of iffy since at least it's a deck that wins and loses really quickly, not sure if WotC would slap it down since at least it's not that annoying to play against. Since WotC sometimes gives you warning about card bannings and sometimes doesn't I always get cagey about shit like this.
Yup, I know. The only problem is occasionally they patch MTGA to include the ban immediately and other times they post B&R and patch MTGA a few days later, so you get a handy window to grab your free cards. It's not TERRIBLY important, especially when a card's banned in all formats, but it's still nice if you can swing it on the off chance a card gets unbanned somewhere eventually. If they ban a card, and you purchased it during that season, they reimburse you with a free wild card for whatever the rarity of the card is. Usually mythic or rare are what is banned, so you'd receive that type of wildcard.
RED ALERT, MEN
B&R looks like it should happen today (Monday, the 15th) because there's a hidden article on WotC for it.

Of course this still doesn't give concrete weight toward picking up Trickery, but that does confirm that B&R's today and not next Monday.

Looks like trickery is still standard legal.
It's such a stupid card in standard. You're basically gambling that the opponent won't be able to remove your overpowered turn 1 card before dying.
I can beat the trickery decks about 60% of the time. It's really just about having the right removals in your opening hand and taking stuff out fast.
If they drop one of those green haste creatures or another huge monster turn one, I think its usually easy to recover if you have a removal early on. There are a lot of 2 cmc exile or destroy cards, so take your whack on turn 1, and recover on turn 2.
If they drop an Ugin or something, I actually think its easier to beat them, because he only thumps you for 3 damage each turn and it gives you more time to drop lands and get access to the more expensive removal cards.

Expect when they have Kiora Bests the Sea God
The deck can step on it's own 0 cmc spells, but I digress
Tho the deck itself you cannot prepare for in best of 1 because you don't know they are playing it
The only signal in the beginning is when they mulligan more then twice
trickery is better than playing white. Id say to craft 4x (although im not doing that) to have some ulamog fun in historic before ban

Most of those trickery decks are essentially barren of anything but their one-off cards. Take out their one off card and they usually quit immediately and it makes for a fast game.
