When has longsword not been one of the top most popular weapons?
In that review, the guy says it went from one of the easier weapons in world to way more busted in Wilds.

Influencers can play and stream the game now. Even their top-of-the-line PCs cannot make the game look better in any way. The game looks like it was made in the 2000s, but somehow it requires powerful modern GPUs to run. Wild.

Don't judge me, I just open Twitch and click on the streamers who have big tits.

2nd pic looks like her sub button activates a hidden vibrator and 10 people subscribed at once. What tf is that face? Jfc.

I picked a hell of a time to forget to pay my internet bill. Now I gotta take my PS5 over to a buddies house just so the fucking game unlocks for me.

Checks out. Only poorfags care about anything console related.

LS was always very popular but it exploded in MH World and Rise. Edit: I think it was always around 20-25% in these games, more than double the second most popular weapon.

It was op in World and braindead in Rise, if its stronger than that in Wilds it might as well play itself.

As far as first impressions go, i'm having a really good time. the wound system was a decent idea. even with the longsword (which indeed might be autoplay at this point), there's at least some incentive to engage with the combat to hit the wounds. Of course, when you do hit enough wounds and fill its meter, it goes right back to autoplay over drive. But by far the graphics and the feel of the movement and gameplay are the highlights for me. With previous Monster Hunters there was always a certain degree of clunkiness in the movement. I don't notice that in Rise so far.

The texture pack isn't fucking preloaded?
I didn't notice any additional download, but it took a while to unpack everything. The shader compilation humiliation ritual was also not as humiliating.

Yeah the texture pack is a separate download as DLC.

Capcom seems to want to sell the option to edit your char's appearance in-game as DLC. It's already available as DLC "vouchers".
Do it right the first time.

I have fewer issues with this than some micro transactions because it's definitely cosmetic, completely optional and a lot of people won't care. That and MMOs have been charging something like $10-20 bucks for that sort of thing for years.

Funny thing is it seems like I can alter my appearance in-game without it. Maybe some options are restricted.

But not, I disagree fundamentally with this take. This is not an MMO to begin with.

I'm pleasantly surprised by people not afraid to shit all over the game for the abysmal performance. At one point this thing was sitting at 37% on Steam, wow.

I thought this was one of the most fanboyed games on the planet but apparently even fanboys aren't willing to be pissed on by Capcom and call it rain. From what I've seen in reviews and streams this is probably THE worst optimized game I've ever played or even seen.

And game looks worse than World. Sure some of assets quality increased like rocks but everything else especially lighting on characters got massive downgrade. Hopefully RE Framework guys will unlock path tracing.

But hey at least gameplay is still fun. Decided to main charge blade this time. Never liked it and never played it extensively but maybe i will like it after maining it.

Even now it's act 47%. I think it makes sense because at least on my end the performance has drastically improved since the first version I played. Currently, I do not have any performance issues, but this might be a "works on my machine" thing.

As far as Steam reviews go, there's not much precedence of mass Capcom dick sucking. People are quick to point out their fuck ups. Eg. Dragon's Dogma is still sitting at "mixed" reviews: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2054970/Dragons_Dogma_2/

Other cases that come to my mind are adding weird DRM tools into their old catalogue or backlash on their stance towards modding.

I can definitely see a lot of performance improvements. Great stuff!

But they disabled Reshade, of course. What the fuck are these colors?!

The armor sets in this game are all such bangers. Rise and World both had many duds, but here they've been really strong across the board.

I see reviews claiming that it runs worse than the beta, interesting. Some early reviews actually claimed that performance improved.

I'm playing on a series S and the improvement is huge. My friends has a PS5 also said it's running better. I guess PC players are struggling.
