Denuvo in a game that runs this poorly is unacceptable. It's unacceptable on principle alone but especially in a REngine open world game that struggles with resource management and compute.

I'm not spending good money on hardware to lose a percentage of it to DRM. I'll wait for a sale and assume Capcom will remove it eventually, they've been decent about doing that. Sucks that one of my favorite series is yet another awful day one release.

I've had exactly one issue (game not booting) with the anti-tamper and it went away after a single reboot. And it may have just been caused by several million people trying to launch the game at once.

I also haven't had any performance hiccups since I turned off the AI shit that Capcom was sadly forced to put in this game due to increasingly-inane "industry standards".

Any coping fags complaining about the graphics should go back to Crysis.

I saw the game for the first time last night because my wife was watching somebody stream it for a bit; I hardly recognized it. I was practically religious about this series back in the day, played all of them up to MH4U and then put a few hours into Generations on my daughters Switch at one point, but to me it appears to be made for a Western audience and has almost entirely removed the actual "hunting", preparatory interactivity, the Japanese humor and aesthetic, all of the mini-game stuff like the farm management etc. I'm very happy for anybody who is excited and enjoying this game, and very much wish I could join in. I miss the sensation of actually feeling fear in hunting certain monsters, and as much as I adore the first two games and Freedom Unite, for me the series peaked with Portable 3rd and Tri. The underwater hunts in Tri were like feverish nightmares! And the palicoes and Cha Cha perfectly complimented the terror. I miss the use of things like paintball ammo :(

The aesthetic of 3rd and 4th gen was really awesome. The art style was great and I loved the low-to-mid poly models. Nothing will top it for me.

Worst PC port of 2025 calling it now.
"Like previous disaster launches such as The Last of Us Part 1 and Forspoken, there's also a fundamental disconnect here between the level of graphical fidelity and the performance we're getting. I have no idea why an arid, nearly featureless desert would run this poorly on a range of hardware when other games look and run significantly better."

"For higher-end GPUs I would also advise caution. Playing through the introduction on the RTX 4070 I saw consistent stuttering even on the high texture setting, so it would be logical to assume this could get even worse with the higher-res texture pack installed - and that's backed up by results from the benchmark tool. Based on my measurements in the base game, I believe the stutters are not related to running out of VRAM, but could in fact be related to constant streaming and perhaps real-time decompression."

Game is soo uneven graphically. Those fruitful seasons look amazing but before that you have normal and "stormy" seasons which look dogshit.
Worst of it is that pissfilter they are using to modulate it. Near forest main camp there is normal lighting but once you step through fallen tree suddenly everything becomes bluish.

I really hope someone can nuke that pissfilter.

Ok, played some more and got to 4th map i think and fought my favorite monster from MH4 spidey.
Some opinions:

- I main now my most hated weapon charge blade and so far moveset changes are ok
- focus mode, i though it would be shite but it is useful to target with moves properly some parts.
- difficulty wise low rank is definitely above worlds low rank. First 2-3 monsters are walk in the part but later ones definitely can put out some nice moves. So far highlight for me was that electro bird. Really cool fight and it felt like fighting nergigante in world aka pretty hard. IDK where those "It's too easy" comments came from. Maybe journalists got easy mode or something?
- story wise it is boring as shit. I feel like half of the cast could be booted without any issue because they bring nothing. Sadly this story seems to be targeted to young children and it feels that way all the way through. In general MH stories were always whimsical and not super serious but this goes waaay to overboard. MH4 it is not (my favorite mh story)
- Way too much walking with npcs. Like every single main quest is pretty much non stop walking to somewhere with other npcs.
- sekiret is nifty but i feel like this was supposed to be bigger world but later on they reduced size of it thus making sekiret kind of meh. Areas are around two times larger than those in world
- Weirdly i expected more fauna and flora but somehow it seems less than in World.
- No proper hub. Don't like those shitty camps. Hope later we get some proper town.
- music wise that eletro bird theme was amazing. overall meh

Pretty much what I expected after DD2. Looks like I'm bailing out until the expansion, and only if that fixes how the game runs and  looks

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Capcom knows we know that Denuvo is responsible for the performance being shit, and doesn't care.
Capcom doesn't care because their fans don't care. There was barely any pushback on Steam against Denuvo, while the KCD2 forum was nothing but "DEnuVO = no buy!!1!1" threads, top to bottom for weeks on end, until Warhorse said there would be no Denuvo in the game.

Same with DD2, Wukong or some of the anime games like SMT. Seems like Asian games are somehow exempt from the gamers' anti-Denuvo rage.

The looks is an important point. More and more we see games with abysmal performance but shit graphics. Where are those resources going to exactly?

I guess PC players are struggling.
What else is new? I will grab my tiny violin.

Anyways game looks and plays great on PS5. I'm having a blast!
Im cranking over 100 fps at 2140p, everything on high. The performance should be better but it’s still crushing the PS5. You’re not getting anywhere close. Maybe 60 fps on Vaseline performance mode. Sneed. Nigger.

It is okay-ish for a console on the PS5 pro, the base PS5 is pretty bad tho.

Btw this game has an insane number of chinese players. If Steam isnt bullshiting me there are more reviews in chinese than in English.
