Swordflight Chapter 5 has just been released.
Swell. Now I just have to wait for chapter 6 and I can start this in earnest.Swordflight Chapter 5 has just been released.
Woah! Congrats dude. I look forward to playing it.Swordflight Chapter 5 has just been released.
Not sure if its just me being retarded, but with EE I can't load the module. "Module file might be corrupted"Swordflight Chapter 5 has just been released.

Just starting chapter 3 now. 1 + 2 are both masterpieces for me in their own way and will always be part of the standard I'll hold other crpgs to...

Dude, awesome! I can't kick off this weekend, will soon, but I have verified the module loads to chargen on the EE.Swordflight Chapter 5 has just been released.
Thanks, I have tried all that. Chapter 4 is still working. I also got the Diamond edition from GOG, so guess time to reactive the account there. Not sure why that would be happening, but some standard troubleshooting for this sort of thing:
Double check you have downloaded all the necessary files, unarchived them, and put them in the correct folders (for EE the relevant folders are in the "Documents" section, and module, hak, etc. files should not be placed in any other NWN related folders outside the Documents in EE).
Try redownloading and reinstalling the relevant files.
Check and perhaps remove any overrides, or other third party add-ons like patch haks, as these often cause issues.
Perhaps check if you are having similar issues with other modules, or in NWN Diamond (if you have it) - this could narrow down possible causes of the problem.
Rename how exactly? Maybe it's some encoding issue with different language OS setups? Might help others if they run into the same problem.Wow, I couldn't find my GOG login anymore, so I played around a bit with the EE version. Aaand all I had to do is rename the .mod file.
I'll play SF after I finish prophet.
But what build can break SF and experience the most content? I better think of something or I'll end up playing a Pal/Sorc/RDD again..
damn, I'm still in Chapter 4! gives me more motivation to finally finish it though. anyways, thanks for keeping this awesome series going.Swordflight Chapter 5 has just been released.
I just renamed to swordflight.mod, that worked. I am using Win10 Eng (US).Rename how exactly? Maybe it's some encoding issue with different language OS setups? Very weird. Off the top of my head, I wonder whether something's fucked with the EE's pathing, some rookie string manip mistake that's generating a naming conflict somewhere. The Documents and internal pathing are all new, and the EE allows additional character in save names, so a lot has changed.I just renamed to swordflight.mod, that worked. I am using Win10 Eng (US).
I did some more testing:
And for some extra lol:
- Renamed swordflight.mod to Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod. Loading a chapter five save works, starting a new game does not
- Re-downloaded chapter five, moved original Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod file into mod folder. Chapter five saves can be loaded, but again can't start a new game
- Re-downloaded Chapter Four, I can start a new game using Swordflight - Chapter Four.mod
- Renamed Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod to Crackerjack - Bright Moon.mod (same number of characters, same spaces + symbols). Both loading a chapter five save and starting a new game worked
- Swordflight - Chapter.mod - error
- Swordflight - Chapte.mod - error
- Swordflight - Chapt.mod - error
- Swordflight - Chap.mod - error
- Swordflight - Cha.mod - error
- Swordflight - Ch.mod - error
- Swordflight - C.mod - OK
- wordflight - Chapter Five.mod - OK
No, I meant the modules folder in Documents/. I never bothered with the Program Files path, wasn't even aware they are differently named.Very weird. To confirm, when you say you moved it "into mod folder", you mean you moved Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod from /Documents/Neverwinter Nights/modules/ to the install dir, e.g. /Program Files/Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition/data/mod/ and still the same thing?
And, actually, could you try one more thing? Take an original "Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod" that doesn't work, rename it to "lol" and then rename it again, manually typing out "Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod". I know it sounds like a dumb idea, but it's a pretty dumb issue, might as well cover all grounds.
Okay, so there's nothing screwy with the filename, just wanted to cover all bases. No, I meant the modules folder in Documents/. The Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod renamed to lol works fine, both loading a save as well as starting a new game. I rename this one manually, so no copy/paste, to Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod I can still load my saves, but cannot start a new game.
If I move it over there (SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Neverwinter Nights/data/mod/), the module won't even show up in the in-game browser.Okay, so there's nothing screwy with the filename, just wanted to cover all bases. No, I meant the modules folder in Documents/. Can you also try the internal game folder, please? That might help zero in on whether it's a path parsing issue. Just remove the originally named "Swordflight - Chapter Five.mod" from /Documents/Neverwinter Nights/modules/ and put it into the /data/mod/ folder inside your game install directory, e.g. /Program Files/Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition/data/mod/ and see if it loads that way.
Oh, you're right, I think the function of the internal modules repository has changed significantly in the EE, there seems to be a indexing .json for it now. I give up, I suspect it's a path parsing issue, but dunno what else to suggest short of reporting it to Beamdog if you can be bothered. If I move it over there (SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Neverwinter Nights/data/mod/), the module won't even show up in the in-game browser.
