I am also happy that more money is going to Obsidian, but let's be clear that what happened was that one or two (?) sugar daddies bailed us out at the last moment by donating $2000. What the general community effort managed to raise was 3k. But who cares, let's hope the game turns out good!
When you tally up the donations, you come to 4600 (if assuming the <50$ ones were all $20) Now this might differ here and there, compensated by perhaps a couple of the 250$ dollar donations being a bit higher than 250, but nothing crazy/spectacular was needed here to achieve the $5K. Think DarkUnderlord could confirm this.

Pretty sure enough people are donating tomorrow regardless. In fact, I'd be surprised if more bonuses weren't announced eventually. Damned awesome fundraiser if you ask me.

If we get to $6k or more, I'll try negotiating something additional for our adventuring party with Obsidian. Dunno yet what exactly it could be, but let's get there first. :)

Or we could grab an epic in-game item in addition to the party.

Mrowak is right. The references will most likely cause a problem once this game is released, to the point where future kickstarts will have to tone such rewards way down. This game will become the bad example for that.

I would really have liked the Codex to come together to create characters, dialogue, even portraits, models etc. to create one fucking quality encounter in the game. Imagine how you would all feel if reviewers were citing the encounter created by the Codex (without realising who made it) as one of the better parts of the game. Would any other alternative be able to make people feel as self-satisfied and as smug as that? I doubt it.

Unfortunately, even if the Codex did that there would still be an inordinate amount of really terrible references from across the internet to contend with, and while such a situation may have made the Codex contribution stand out more, it would still pull the whole game down a level.

Whatever. People need to make the mistake to be able to learn from it in the future.

They are supposed to have learned their lesson in Fallout 2. If not, it will show that Obsidian is beyond salvage. No more excuses. Rotten to the core.

One recruitable character from the Codexian Party, assuming the player can convince him or her to abandon or turn on the others:

DarkUnderlord or Crooked Bee can cut a deal to make one of the Codexian party members a recruitable character (as per the $1000 Reward: "Name and design an NPC") that you can convince to turn on the others, who will then become a
race_title.png
in every sense of the word. So if there is going to be Codex references in the game, at least we should make it true to its nature.

Yet, if they made a game as good as Fallout 2, I would be ecstatic.

Once again, MCA made us his bitch.

Also, this

"To be willing to march into Hell

is starting to make sense now.

An NPC(troll) the player's party has to kill, capture, or escort in a race against the other adventuring parties. The trouble is this guy keeps regenerating or reappearing like some kind of skyrim dragon or oblivion gate. If the party leaves him alone, the NPC disappears. Otherwise, his presence continues to get worse and worse as the game goes on.

Edit: Basically the NPC gets passed around to other adventuring parties unless the player's party intervenes. The thought of other site's evil parties complaining about a codex troll sends chills down my spine, from a monocled perspective of course.

The top #16 donors account for well over 3/5 of all funds raised. The average for the 68 people in the < $50 category is just over $15 each.

Just keep in mind that currency conversion rates and fees are going to chew about 5% - 10% out of what's actually able to be donated.

RAISED: $5,699.21 USD (114%)

Now that the project raised more than 5 k for one party, maybe the should be another stretch goal for another party? 1 party for warriors of diversity and another party for men responsible for decline.

You live in a civilized world, can't you open USD account in the bank?
Yeah, I realise the PayPal account should probably be held in USD - but right now it isn't. I'll make the change after this campaign.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
I hate myself.

Donation amount: $251.00 USD
Total: $251.00 USD
Purpose: rpgcodex.net
Reference: CodexEternity

Consider this a penance for only buying Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment and not Vampire, MoTB and TOEE.

Don't beat yourself up too much about not playing Mask of the Betrayer. It was well written, but not worth having to deal with the horrible Neverwinter Nights game engine.

We should now be above 6k when the counter gets updated.
