Thanks guys for answering my questions. Seems like I'd best skip out on buying the DVD since I won't be able to get the DLC as they too don't have storepages(on steam) in my country. Considering that and also the ease of modding, I'll have to save up to buy the GOG version, after wrestling with my bank to enable me to buy from there. I'll keep these mods in mind, and also the list that was linked, since I'm out of patience when it comes to searching around for mods and fixes, so a list is very useful. Thanks again!

I wonder why so many people use Jsawyer mod, Vicious Waste pretty much outclass it when it comes to character, choice and consequences, and balance.

I went JSawyer, because I knew who designed it and what its intentions were. I took a look into Vicious Wastes, but the "combat is fast" part turned me off. I do not like fast & furious. But maybe I will look into VW at some point anyway.

Yeah, that's the reason why I don't do Vicious Wastes. I feel like it misses all the RPG elements and turns into a FPS instead. Jsawyer mod is king.

I should propably add my few cents here to show my recently made New Vegas modding guide.
The scope of this guide has been to use mods that don't aggressively or bring out over-the-top features into the base game and that some of them, the bigger ones, could be configured. The mods included are not to make the game most "realistic" looking or "hardest", but to make up what would be consistent, relatively fitting to the game world, and stable as well.

Cirosan's Classic Overhaul is another underrated gem. Jsawyer Ultimate and it creates a hardcore rpg vibe since skills such as perception, or Charisma actually do shit other than being a dump stat and special points matter much more than being gateways to perks.

I do, they obviously don't have the production values of content made by proper dev teams but some of them are ok. There are a couple of modders like someguy2000 and Mike hancho (or something like that) that consistenly put out decent content.

A decent amount of good ones have released, they just don't get the amount of attention that they deserve. Most are either 70-80% voice acted to 100% voice acted. And often with mildly interesting plots. It's a shame that most people stop at Someguy and look no further.

This sorta happened to fallout 3 in Fallout 4. IIRC it's dead in the water.
Also drax, my agenda is to tell you to go play Autumn leaves mod for New Vegas. Do it.

Man, I uninstalled the game ages ago.

But the mods I remember liking the best are.. Hmm..
Graphics mods: Made stuff look prettier

I think there were some more- that made nighttime actually dark, but I don't really remember which ones these were. I also used Project Nevada's night vision glasses thing with it- it was really cool.

Nice scarves mod: Can't be a good wastelander without scarves.

Gameplay mods - combat:

I liked how it made stats have a more sensible effect on the gameplay. Instead of effecting damage, it effects how much your guns tremble when you aim down the sights. But to counteract that, weapons do more damage, especially on headshots!

Gameplay mods - survival\IMMERSHUN:

I hated the normal version's fast travel. So I used these instead. You have a motorbike you can use to cruise the Mojave. Need to fill it up with gasoline every now and then.

Music:

There was also another nice one with lots of good Django Reinhardt tunes, but it seems to have gone down  I'll always fondly remember walking towards the NV strip after a nice scavenger raid, with "Body and Soul" playing in the background.

I finally decided to replay this game, only this time with mods. I've never seriously modded bethesda games before, so this process took me awhile. I followed this tutorial: http://wiki.step-project.com/User:EssArrBee/FalloutNewVegas, skipping only PN and quest mods. Had to do some troubleshooting, but in the end got everything to run almost perfectly. What can I say, having weather, dark nights, vegetation, more sound effects, better textures and 4k makes the experience pretty damn close to what I imagined walking through the world of F1/2 would be
