this is really bugging my ass so i did a bit of digging and found this from 2010:

Not sure if this is related to yours or not, but since it's the only mod I'm running that affects either Nipton or crucified people, I'm suspecting it is.

On a new game, the first time I entered Nipton, there were no bodies (other than one skeleton) hanging from the crosses. After I spoke to Vulpes and entered and left the town hall, the bodies suddenly appeared.

All other behaviour in Nipton seems normal. I did get a second Mr. Gutsy, but I haven't gone back to make sure there isn't a third. To those who think a second Gutsy is a bug, make sure you read the terminal inside the inventor's house...

NMC's texture pack
Nevada skies
Arwen's realism tweaks
Willow
Weapon retexture project

I forget what else. I had over 30 mods installed.

But goddamn, the amount of work required to make this game look decent... and even... Kind of like teaching etiquette to a retard. He does all the right things, but it just doesn't feel right.

NMC's texture pack i hate that pack. Sure interiors textures look better but they completely change art design for many places. Especially annoying is that it changes default pebbles and rocks textures that doesn't fit previous art design. Couple that with nevada skies and you have something like on picture above. Complete color fuckup.

Pretty much every Bethesda engine graphics mod makes the games look like color fag explosion time, if you ask me. New Vegas is supposed to look like a fucking sepia tone desert. That's the design.

Game decided it won't recognize the keyboard anymore, only the mouse (so I can spin in place, aim and attack, but no walking, opening inventory or the console). I can use the controller, but I'd miss the Project Nevada hotkeys. Anyone knows what could be the cause? Google gives solutions like disabling infrared device (don't have one installed) or changing the "backgroundkeyboard=0" lines on the INIs (nothing happens), or using the console to type "EnablePlayerControls" to get unstuck (but I can't acess the console since it requires me to use the keyboard...). This never happened with FO3, Obsidian :M

EDIT: Nevermind, my firewall thought it would be a good idea to run the game in a sandbox, causing it to ignore keystrokes. TROLOLOLO u got me gud, m8

-

By the way, look what I found. The author seems surprisingly sane, fan of Stalker and FO1&2.

I've heard people complaining Project Nevada adds some extraneous stuff, AWN seems to be more focused on improving what is already there. Only downside (?) is that it requires some other mod's HD weapon textures, which I don't care much about.

This mod reminds me of Arwen tweaks. And how idiotic and awesome at the same time it was. First it balanced a lot gameplay as it took out first additional 5 points of special (which means you had to deduce to increase soemthing), bartering completely changed so buying stimpack was expensive and selling stuff almost worthless (unless you had + in barter) but then it introduced shit like med tek which basically is gamer worst dream. Calorie count, diseases and whole other plethora of things that noone would take seriously (since game was not created with it in mind).

Must have mods/idea of mods

Lengthen the level exp requirement. A 2x is okay for complete newbie, but 3x is about right for a veteran gamers. You still hit the ceiling around the final DLC.

Increase the requirement for food/drink/sleep. To say how unrealistic it's currently is: You can sleep one hour, get 11 hour of boosted Well Rested bonus rinse and repeat. So it's 2 hour cat naps each day. Bah. It should have been 8 hour minimum.

These two ideas are in use among various mods. So choose your favourite.

After playing the game almost unmodded about one year ago, I decided to replay it, but this time I want to tweak it as much as possible. The mods I'm looking for should be lore friendly and not hardware demanding. What would you recommend?

I plan on making a character who's gameplay primarily revolves around stealth. For this reason I'm considering choosing Melee Weapons as my main offensive skill (Is it a good idea? I've heard melee in NV is terrible, even more than gunplay), I would probably still have to put some points in Guns for situations where I have to fight many enemies at once (could Explosives be an alternative?). My third pick would be Speech, I would also have to put few points in Science and Lockpick. Its seems like much, but witch high INT I think it's doable.

I've been browsing Nexus lately and these are the mods that seemed interesting to me (Your opinions on them would be much appreciated):

You can just focus on VATS if you can't stomach the combat. Melee weapons actually do double damage in VATS so the game kind of encourages it. It's to compensate for the fact you're a sitting duck during the animation but if you're stealthy it won't be a big issue.

So far I consider this to be the 'best' the New Vegas modding community has on offer.
You need to organize with loot and combine patch with wrye flash. Use Mod Organizer.
It takes a lot of effort to get it all working though.
Definitely would not recommend that you use MMUE or normal Mission Mojave.
Also the Willow Companion mod is not impressive at all.

I was thinking about not using VATS at all (it gives you unfair advantage and is cheap in general), but knowing how clunky NV combat is I will probably end up using it anyway, maybe No HUD will be enough for extra challange or is it a good idea to use BulletTime (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35823/?) instead of VATS?

I won't bother with MMUE then, Unofficial 4GB patch fixes crashes only? What bugfix pack mod should I use? FOOK (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34684/?) looks quite good, in addition to fixes it has a lot of new content. Should I use it alone or with Yukichigai Unofficial Patch (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51664/?)? If there are conflicts, one should overwrite the other?

Could you also recommend me a good, lore friendly radio mod?

You already have an unfair advantage in the fact you are a human and not a retarded AI. Might as well make it as pleasant as possible, so Bullet Time would be nice for someone who likes the combat instead of wanting to get away from it. In any case, during New Vegas' VATS you take 75% damage (as opposed to 10% like in FO3), so it's not as much of a win button. Of course, with a mod you can change those values - I left it at 75% for both games because I feel it's a good balance. If the enemy is taking huge chunks off your health, exposing yourself to aim at a specific body part is a big risk.

R.A.C.E. is probably the best radio mod, I have it loaded but I don't actually listen much in-game radio so I can't rage/gush over it.

When writing about unfair advantage, I meant that VATS makes your attacks faster than normal. I'm basing it on my past observations so I could be wrong about it.

This actually doesn't sound bad, I thought damage reduction was 50% or more.

Like Cassidy says, Mission Mojave is not a pure bug fixing mod, it contains gameplay changes as well.

I recommend using Yukichigai's Unofficial Patch instead.

I've never used FOOK myself. I happened upon this in the comments for YUP though.

Can I use fook with this or is it not need and just wasted space to use both? You mentioned a lot of bug fixes in fook with this but is their more bug fixes in this fook does not have?I was wondering if using this and fook would have stability issues since I want to have as many bug fixes I can.Anyone know if they will mess with each other? Also what should I install first if I can use both fook or yup?

Yukichigai on Nexus said:
This has a lot of custom bug fixes made just for YUP, some of which I think aren't in FOOK (because I don't have rights to redistribute them). You should probably use this in addition to FOOK.

I notice you're thinking of using both a Sprint mod and a Bullet Time mod. Project Nevada contains both these functions, and is highly customizable. I use that mod primarily for these functions, I didn't want any new items or balance changes so I deselected these options.

Could you also recommend me a good, lore friendly radio mod?

I've only ever installed two radio stations, CONELRAD 640-1240 Civil Defense Radio and Radio Classical.

CONELRAD fits the theme of the other music, but I've barely listened to it so I can't say much about it.

I've listened to Radio Classical a lot though, and I love it. I can't see myself playing the game without it and its sub-mod, Tune Dead Radios (turns dead radios such as the ones in your Presidental Suite into working radios that play Radio Classical), installed.

Whether you want Bach and Beethoven with your New Vegas is up to you though.

EDIT:

I recommend DarNified UI NV instead. It lacks the Fallout-themed look, but the text is much easier on the eyes and the interface can fit almost double the amount of items on the screen at once.

Darn's UI mods are pretty great. Did he resurface again or is he still MIA?

I think his NV UI mod was still in alpha, although that doesn't say much, it's pretty much complete unless you absolutely need fancy shit.

Necessary mod:
1. Increase the daily requirement of sleep, food, drinks. Triple the default if you can. You are in a desert, act like it.

2. Lengthen the XP req to level up. 2x i sokay for newbie. Veteran should get 3x. It will raise the immershun of the game at lower level.

3. Radio on NV. A lengthy one because you are going to spend a hundred hours on the game.

All else is optional.

I saw some Youtube video showing Project Nevada long time ago, I don't remember what I didn't like there but after seeing it I ignored the mod. I didn't know it's customisable though. Will definietly give it a try.

Nonetheless, I think I will use Revelation UI. I can't stand the vanilla UI art style.
Apparently there is a way to use both http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42483/?.
