I feel disappointed and that I missed out because I never found any funny or cool bugs in Elder Scrolls games save for the occasional dinner plate perpetually spinning on a table or a dancing haunted chair because I tried to play these games at 120 FPS instead of the necessary 60 FPS. Maybe it's because I always played later versions with the most recent patches.

Radiant AI always freaked me out and is kind of spooky that few NPC are travelling on their own between cities independently of player's position or is he even there - and can be killed by mobs. But it's cool in a weird kind of way!

Oblivion is what got me into modding, so I'll always have a special place for it in my heart.



Of course, this would be more wholesome if 80% of those mods weren't porn mods.

So it's more like holesome instead.

I have a past fondness for Oblivion too. Considered it much more of a slick, 1st person adventure game (with stats) than an RPG. There was a huge mod where the author created an entire auxiliary world, and the only way to access this new world was through clues that led you to the bottom of a lake where there was a door, and... It was probably the first time I encountered something like that - the lack of handholding - in a big AAA game. It was also the first time I heard modders doing custom voice acting, and luckily it was german females with thick accents that gave it an appropriate "other world" quality instead of some american retard voice actor trying to do foreign accents and always sounding like a bad Arnuld impression. There were a few problems though with the mod. For example, the author had no idea that you're not suppose to completely fill an alchemist's shop with bottles, flasks and beakers lest your framerate drop to under 10 FPS. Stopped. Right. There.

I thought maybe porn and PC gaming could peacfully merge and co-exist until I saw all the pornographic lolicon hentai and gay visual novels available on Steam. Now I feel like there should be a separation between the Church (of Perv Porn) and the State (of Games).
