How is it pointless? There are substantial and unique rewards for getting your regions and artisans upgraded and ways to do so earlier or later (or not at all).

I rushed Divine and the Twins this playthrough so have Teleportation Circles and Mountainclimbing a chapter and a half early, letting me dedicate more or less my entire time budget to rank-ups. I was already designing my party to minimize rests.
Having early access to Teleportation Circles and Aviary makes managing the kingdom much more powerful and saves a lot of time.

I just became a Baron. I appointed advisors (I have no Treasurer though), but other than that I have no idea what I am doing. I didn't find any comprehensive guides. I hope I don't break anything.

It’s Rogue-like in that respect. If you do break something you’ve learned what not to do for your next playthrough. Main thing is the Ancient Curse timer. It will warn you at 28 days.

At 14 you’ll get a one-day Problem card that will eat your Kingdom ranks if you don’t solve it. What freaks people out is this happening (failing that Problem card) due to being in the middle of a rank-up or region acquisition. So you learn not to start one when that’s coming up.

There will also be a boss fight at Bald Hilltop you have to put down at that point. Once you do the Problem card and beat the (fae) boss you’re good.

That problem card that appears once Hilltop troubles arise, it has a DC to beat, DC is often very high but in all my playthroughs I never ever failed that card. Not once in 30-40 attempts. It goes beyond really good luck. Is the DC only there for show and you always pass that check if you got a free advisor to handle it?

It is auto-success if fight on the Bald Hilltop is cleared, but it is standard roll you can fail if not. I have failed it couple of times when taking too long to get there. New problem card is generated every 2-3 days iirc while curse is active.

Felt like more than that when I got caught mid-rankup. Problem cards can be a good source of stats if you’ve got your advisors available and in good shape.

I am pretty sure you are hit with stat loses every day while curse is active after the first card, even with adviser assigned. But it has been quite some time and patches ago when I checked it - I've tried to farm rare + Espionage points on them.

I was wondering what does the kingdom difficulty option change. The rolls? The amount of time for solving stuff or what?

It definitely does not affect any time restrictions or card spawning rate per month. After playing a ton on both Normal and Effortless difficulty I think that it is small flat adjustment to DC on event cards, like -2 or -3.
I usually play it on Effortless, but card failure is never noticeably different when I leave it on Normal.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
So many cucks in this topic lol

Seriously people, are you that afraid of your game experience not being perfect?
Are you same kind of retards that played save scum game over every chest in WL2 because your autism would not let you not know what is in every randomly generated container?
No, I simply don't have time to spend replaying big sections of the game because I screwed up some random rolls for kingdom missions or whatever.
It's not a rogue-like that you can finish in 5 hours, it's a fucking behemoth of 100 hours, I don't have the time to prolong that to 150 because of a side-game.

There is no replaying needed because you failed 3 checks more than average. You bring shame to that avatar of yours. Replace that with a cuck instead.

If its only DC then i don't really understand whats the point of playing in normal tbh. It wont change the way you play, just the fact that the outcome will probably be worse.

As with everything else in this game if played well RNG has no impact whatsoever.

I disagree. Some of the checks you fail in the kingdom management are NOT that big of a deal. At most you will just get some loss to stats. Easily recuperated by succeeding on a couple of event cards. You will have to try REAL hard to fail the kingdom management.

Because it's trivial even on normal to do well regardless of dice rolls once you understand what you're doing.

whats the point if being a king if the kingdom doesn't matter

Kingdom matters. It is the best source of top tier items in the game. And coolest part, you need to rule well to get them - with properly leveled advisers and claimed/upgraded regions. No loot for slackers.
