Wait, no. Why do you need the monk dip? 3 ranks into mobility. Pick Improved Unarmed. Then get your crane style. You don't NEED monk dip. Even if you do monk dip, how good would it be for lawful evil?
Monk robes are:
Lawful Good + 5 to dodge, +1 to attack
Lawful Neutral +3 to dodge, +3 to attack
Lawful Evil + 5 to attack, +1 to dodge
Unless you're going unarmed Jaethal, there is no reason for the monk dip.

...you're missing Cha to AC. Also you're needlessly burning 3 feats.

there are some "flame" drops that give you a full rest and you can get multiples on a single floor but normal rest does need rations.

I started playing this a couple of days ago, and I regret not starting earlier. The mechanical depth and low-level combat (especially with the TB mod) is so much better than BG that it's not even funny, and BG/BG2 are among my favorite games. Here's to hoping that I won't hate the kingdom management as much as I fear I will.

Don't believe the hype. It's 95% carrot. Only thing to worry about is getting to Bald Hilltop exactly 14 days before each Curse runs out. The better you do with it the better the items you get and the earlier you get them. Eventually you get some always on buffs as well.
