Also i've talked about women in iron, and somehow the arguments pertaining shit i find improbable in this phenomena, got intertwined by LannTheStupid with my discussion about gods where i haven't said anything about it being improbable -just plain boring sidequest worthy trash tier minigods that doesn't have influence on core game. Talk about lack of reading comprehension.

The education in rusland is getting worse year by year it seems.

I wouldn't say a woman putting on some plate armour and swinging a piece of metal around is "batshit unprobable", especially when that woman is an obvious Joan of Arc Rip-off. Bche, Joan of Arc, what a lazy writing.
But hey I guess it's more realistic than using DEX for bows and STR for melee weapons rather that the other way around.

That was by the way, specific critique of some weirdness in games, example -Torment: Tides of Numenera. Too weird for me tbh. I don't like this shit in games, i like mystery not weirdness, i like consistency in lore and world building. /Rant off.
The paragraph wasn't about women specifically.

Isn't dex for accuracy[hit chance] and str for damage modifier for bows and throwing weapons like darts? That make some sense imho.

Also, if they were going to go down that route, they could have at least tried to make her portrait look actually, you know, pretty, instead of mannish.
She's not "mannish", the artist just skimped on her makeup to illustrate character traits, e.g. serious, pragmatic, resilient. Compare below the original portrait on the left with some Reddit guy's makeover on the right, anatomy-wise he only tweaked her eyes a bit, the rest is just scowl and makeup.

we're in a world where you can make 15 hardened veteran soldiers run in panic by swinging your sword around real dashing-like, no supernatural elements involved. but it's women in armor that make you guys decry the sad state of high fantasy realism. fucking nerds, go get laid for heaven’s sake

I did not get that.

But, you know, if "swinging your sword" comes the Baron of the local lands who (presumably) has an army - then it's probably wise for 15 soldiers to flee. Or at least form up and defend themselves properly, which is not that easy without armor.

Well, then "15 hardened veteran soldiers" would probably have the will high enough to save from the dazzling display.

oh yes. for instance a grizzled mercenary with his mighty +3 Will save (i picked a favourable example for you - veteran soldiers have +2). it seems you are as bad at the rules as you are at proportions

arguing the realism of the pathfinder ruleset. this place never ceases to amaze me

If any semblance to reality is not important we can start making rpgs with rulesets where strength is responsible for magic, and intelligence is for how hard you hit someone with that two handed axe. Im sure you will find big audience -probably around pot smokers and pseudointelectuals, who will try to find some hidden, deep meaning.

so why aren't you arguing the realism of a level 1 fighter level 1 thug being able to make a seasoned veteran run to mama in a fit of blitstering panic by waving his sword around

High fantasy with poor power progression or level scaling is specially prone to this. I don't like it and try to avoid the games with such elements if possible, but every medium[like games, movies, certain repeatable tropes that are familiar to customers and sell well] has it's limitations. Doesn't mean that i accept or suspend my disbelief for everything. Everyone of us has it's own taste and preferences.

At least even in skyrim the game doesn't expect us to fight dragon alone at lvl 1. The biggest decline game has some semblance of sanity in progression.

So they have the Will of trolls, but +7 Fortitude? Well, apparently, veterans in Golarion are not the ones who can hold the line, but the ones who can survive even the worst possible wounds. Which might be quite realistic for the medieval armies.

ah yes, history describes in abundance the cases where a dozen battle-hardened soldiers ran from a single rookie doing yo-yo tricks with his short sword

To be fair, history is a hoax and that could very well have happened.

It's even funnier if you factor in the possibility of using Dazzling Display with Weapon Focus (Ray):

"Oh my God! Look at that guy! HE DOESN'T HAVE A WEAPON!!! AAAAAAH, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!"

that involves a supernatural element tho and i counted on these simians only being able to see the ridicoulousness of their premise by keeping to the purportedly non-magic elements of the game

tho we are arguing realism in the context of Pathfinder here so i suppose the debate is much like the special olympics. even if you win, the prospects of sexual intercourse with the opposite sex are dubious at best unless she too suffers from the autism

The rules describe them as people who cannot deal with their fear or other... wishes. They cannot hold the line against galloping cavalry or a bully with the sword. Also, they will be frozen in place fascinated by large, hairy and beautiful Linzi's feet. They have Will +3, after all.

But they can survive serious wounds that they are receiving as the result of their cowardice, because of Fort +7.

So yes, a Fighter/Thug can scare them shitless just brandishing the sword, but if s/he decides to actually fight them they will be very hard to kill. I don't know why. Paizo, apparently, think that veteran soldiers behave like that. May be there are too many peaceniks in Paizo?

I am truly fascinated by your approach to this idiotic debate. Instead of the expected course of action - arguing that women in plate are somehow way more unrealistic than my example of Dazzling Display causing actual panic (that is to say: an argument of scale) - you have instead seemingly chosen to argue that a weakling newbie who has practiced his sword-stunts real hard could actually, in real life, make a dozen combat-tried soldiers run in screaming desperation.

I would have thought such levels of autism were impossible due to the limits set by physics, and thus thank you a thousand times over for this humbling lesson into how deep the intellectual crater actually goes.

The contemporary equivalent would be a tatted up dude chambering a round like he’s done it before.

You’re not taking cover?

Of course the woman fantasy warrior bullshit is nonsense but it’s also industry standard so Owlcat includes it but doesn’t gloss over the absurdities.

That’s a good first step in getting back to something remotely realistic.

It's the small things that make a difference. Larger eyes + shallower, more retroussé nose = neoteny = prettier. The one on the right, if you made her scowling and resilient, would still look different from the one on the left. The one on the right looks like someone a bunch of people could conceivably have thought of as an avatar of the goddess of beauty, the one on the left looks like a young tranny with a wig :)
