Since I already have a key and no idea what to do with two of them, I will give this spare key to the first person to write "I am a banana" after me in this thread.

Use the Giftstravangza thread!

So this game turned out to be good in the end? Great gotta wait my salary then get it!
If you have to wait for your salary to buy a computer game, it may be better for you to save the money for more important things, like, you know, a home?

:x %^&$*%^ Yuppies :x:x:x

:troll:

Got an home.. Also got a work.. Got taxes to pay, feed my animals and most likely i have a better PC than you :D

But beside i was curious about this title if you have to quote me at least provide an answer!
Probably. My PC is from 2012 and has memory issues (bad HDD, I think) from way back. Probably on its last legs, to be honest. I should buy another, but ehhhh, effort...

To be fair to it, it isn't that bad. It suffers from a lot of the problems that plague modern games: early release resulting in a lot of bugs, lousy engine (Unity... *spits*) resulting in bad load times, bad writing, SJW characters (at least it is not that bad in this one) and characters with wangst from 10000 paces. The major problem is that it is advertised as a faithful copy of a PnP written module, and, well, it isn't. It is probably closer than anything that has ever been attempted, but it is not not close to close. The psycho bosses and random souped up mobs is a good indicator of this.

That said, it does seem to have a lot of the mechanics right but I wouldn't expect anything more than a NWN type experience insofar as challenge goes. Relatively hard at first, but then becomes insanely easy later. This is due to the fact that the game devs doesn't appear to know how the game is balanced and, like many DMs that I have seen, tried to tinker with the numbers (bigger numbers, moar numbers, GOOOOOD!!!) and unleashed an uncontrollable beast.

If you want a game that is hack and slash wth a side of tactical combat and kingdom "management", this is probably for you. Think ToEE expanded... with that bloody Balor as every boss.

Sounds like the producer have to learn how to proper balance encounters judging on what you say. Like a newbie DM messing up with encounters.

With the level of optimization you can get out of 6 character party even with story companions, pre-buffing and other shit, if you'd only fight standard OGL encounters you would crush them. Not even select all > left click.

But... but... I thought you didn't have to alter P&P rulesets for digital? And for BALANCE?!?

Surely, this is disgusting

I still think they should have had Core Rules difficulty from the start though, because that is what players expect, and you gotta meet expectations of what they want to play.

They should have used core rules but have used more enemies with more abilities and better AI instead of stat inflation. They didn't because that shit is hard. Even PotD relies on stat inflation. But it's unfortunate that there is no "strict" core mode that difficulty mods could be based on.

That is pretty much the main complaint that players are giving. Other than the bugs, some of which are pretty game breaking. But, yeah. The encounters are pretty borked.

Most people that wait for their salary to buy a game have at least one home. I have two houses and a half and an apartment, still wait to buy a game :). You in the west are just hobos.
Shh! Don't tell the dumbarse westerners:

Multiple investment property makes us non-Westerners a lot of money at their expense, and they think they are doing it good being able to rent a house instead of getting "tied down with a mortgage."

I would like to say "I am a banana" but that would be a lie. My sister, on the other hand...

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
When you set the level of the encounter, you take into account what is the condition of the party. Have they fought 3 other equal ECL encounters already? If so, limit your ECL to equal or 1 above at most. Alternatively, allow them to rest and then hit them with a ECL+4 encounter, but make sure they have a chance to get out and rest up afterwards. All this is up to you as DM, especially in an environment like a cRPG, where you get to dictate the number and kind of encounters they get to the nth degree.
If programmers do this in a cRPG wouldn't the approach be shunned as "level scaling" (ok, it's not just level, but also scaled to the condition of the player's party)? I understand that in PnP what counts most is for the players to experience the thrill of "we barely made it but in the end we won!", and it's no doubt very satisfying when you feel the same thing from some encounter in a computer game.

You should be able to keep track of the level of the party when you are designing the campaign. For example, you are reliably level 3 after the Intro in NWN, and you can reliably get 1 level per area in Act 1. Therefore, at the start of Act 2, you can cater for a toon of about level 8.

In ToEE, you should be around level 4 or 5 when you complete the Hommlet quests, so the gatehouse can be targetted at a party of level 6 or so.

As the maker of a cRPG, these are the things you should be 100% keeping track of and controlling very tightly behind the scenes.

That seems a reference to Magicka..
Password: Banana.

Beside i don't understand why the portrait are pretty good but some other things aren't seems the artist is good when it comes to draw picture of characters not including the feet.

:D :D :D

I don't have the game. I don't do 1st day buys for modern games. Too many bugs, too much crying and frustration. I generally wait until the gold or higher editions come out, with all the bugs gone and a bit of history in the marketplace as to whether it is any good.

The crying and the fanboism here is a good indicator and a good barometer of what is good in the game and what isn't, though.

Depends on the amount of freedom and resources player has. And for some people, even Story mode is not Story enough.

Also I am not sure what are you talking about when saying altering rulesets. Altering enemy composition and levels is not altering rules.

Big spoiler

It's about Vordekai's Tomb. I've entered the tomb at lvl 11 and to be honest I was completely unprepared for what came next.

First issue, the door is closed behind you therefore there is no way to go back and rest outside. Needless to say I was without camping supplies.

Then there are 2 huge levels which are filled to the brim with mobs. Needless to say that all my spells were depleted after the first level.

Last issue, the boss was doing 130 unholy damage. On Normal. I had no counter spell, potion or scroll for that. 4 of my characters had stat disabilities.

I've spent 2h+ in this dungeon, I wasted countless potions and scrolls and I just needed to kill the boss ... Fuck it. Changed difficulty to Story.

:negative:

The boss went down because it does almost no damage on Story. Also I lost Tristian. Brutal dungeon.

Also the Nymph quest is canceled if it wasn't done by this point. I feel defeated and frustrated.

It's my fault for not preparing mostly because I did not want to go back to the Capital in order to buy some camping supplies.

I wish there were more merchants or places to resupply but this is it.

... Fuck it. I will take a break and then I think I will redo this dungeon. But this time I will be prepared.

Fair warning - The game has massive amount of bugs from chapter 4 and onward. Like people whom visit your court room don't leave after the event, so your courtroom ends up clustered with all those NPCs you cannot talk with. - Companions that are supposed to re-join you after a critical path don't and keeps repeating line - The mood in the Kingdom management is bugged as well, with no actual way to increase it even by succeeding in events and opportunities, only keeps declining untill you have like -5 on every arbitrary attempt event until crumbling and the only way to fix it currently is to turn kingdom management to auto.
