Kingdom management is a bit borked isn't it? You should just be able to assign everyone to a task and then advance time (if at all) on everyone universally. Instead certain tasks can only be done by advancing time, and they have to be done one at a time?.

 

I believe the way they justify it is: "Even though you are using a councillor, the project still requires YOUR direct supervision, thus skipping time as you're too focused on the task at hand."

I agree with you though, kingdom management is extremely wonky at the moment, though it seems the devs know this and are working to improve it piece by piece. (EX: see the 1.1 patch)

 

And that is how you start the game.
You know you will play good game just by looking at first 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes of ui porn of character creator you are welcomed by just adventure bunch taking a quest and characters bantering with each other establishing from outset that you are just part of the world instead of being center of it.

Obviously i am yet to even play more than half an hour but this just point out how different POE1 and this starts.

I'm usually one for playing things on hard difficulties but I really do recommend setting kingdom to easy or effortless in Beta.

You'll just savescum it anyway, but unlike the scumming people use for fights, it doesn't feel rewarding.

 

I played kingdom management from start on normal and I don't savescum to succeed in events at all. The idea of the game is that your kingdom can also fail, it is not just how good an adventurer you are.
If you are save scumming to always win, you might as well put it on Auto as you don't really want to play this part of the game.

 

You're correct. I don't want to play the kingdom management part of the game. Why? Because it's not very fun or good or rewarding. It's just a chore.

Not that I blame them, this was in the source material. I also dislike this in actual pen and paper. I prefer adventuring.

Setting it to auto fucks up your artisans.

 

And that's even worse with HR because of it two component damage.
I like Rogue class so much, but broken SA make me sad and I don't want to play it in PF anymore.

Quick, we need some Lynch law for SA! Get the rope!

 

You don't really need them anyways.
Just put it on auto and enjoy adventuring.

So I built Valerie with UMD in mind, pre-buffed her with all the spells before her duel where she had about +20Attack and 42AC. Then she's using a wand of truestrike, vanish throughout the battle and and about 50 potions of healing. Eventually she wins - level 7, adamantine armor, flaming bastard sword. I'm sure that a man-hating SJW would be punching the air in triumph at depleting their store of resources after all that for just 72 or so XP - all for the glory of kicking the mysogynist authoritarian on his ass but ... but I think I'm just gonna reload and let her get her face bashed in.

The whole thing is all about her standing on her own two feet and building character right? And she'll probably need those resources in the future anyway...

 

Yeah, I really don't think it matters if she wins.

As long as she acts honorably, that paladin should vouch for her honor at the end of her quest to help get what I believe is the "best" ending.

 

Should you make hour own cleric or take harrim/anime one?
Also hospitalier is good alternative for healing?

you get two clerics, if you're going to hire a mercenary that's the last thing you need.

edit: Tristain can take care of all your healing needs and buff and burn stuff with magic, but other than that you need to keep him away from combat. Harrim you can put on the front line and he has some good offensive stuff, but is a worse healer.

 

Is there any way to speed up animations ? Everything seems like takes forever.

 

Nazrielle best girl. Other artisans are all talk and no work or just plain disappeared like Bokken and she just brought me my first masterpiece. Right before Pitax chapter start. Valerie is happy - i gave her focus in longswords from the start.

If you can get the same by loosing/keeping him alive then it doesn't matter indeed.

Why are you shillling conjuration, evocation and necromancy seem much better, especialy high level.

Two slots per spell in those schools really are making me regret my conjurer.

 

Easy way to win the fight is to use Heart of Ira.

 

I meant the ending to her quest, not endgame slides. I'm not sure what the actual ending is but I doubt it is that one.

She was judged not guilty, I passed all diplomacy checks and the other paladin stood up for Valerie too, she accepted that the paladins have a point it's just not the life for her, and her scar was healed. I only had to fight the zealot guy and his minions, the other paladins helped me.

 

Regarding companion quests. Is Nok-Nok the only one who doesn't get a stat increase or item at the end of his last quest (maybe Tristian too, but he was executed, so I have no idea)?

 

I've read easiest way to win is to precast web. Personally shot him down with wand of acid arrows. If you already went UMD no need to tortue yourself with true strike.

They are probably tied anyway. Logically, there should be one ending slide for str/cha quest resolution and one for dex.

If you kill the Barghest you apparently get two +4 Kukris, one +2d6 fire and one +2d6 cold. I banished the barghest though so I can't confirm.
Tristian doesn't get a stat upgrade but he gets some special abilities.
The only thing Jubilost got for me was +10 Lore (Arcana) and Ekun got nothing as far as I could tell.

Tristian can get stat upgrade (+2 WIS and CHA). For me it depended on final quest dialogue choice.
Got neither upgrade nor items for Ekun though.

Does anyone else un-memorize the spells in their bonus slots when you rest in the capital? It seems like it happens to me every single time
