Surprised how strong DA is going, probably because they combine all games together? Either that or because it's first game where Bioware thrown an actual juicy bone to housewives - a non-retarded bastard prince would be king to draw lewd fanart of.

Or it's just the fact that people who fill in the survey are relatively young and DA:O was probably nearly one of the bigger RPG they played.

The original BG2, the RPG that probably make romance a common thing in CRPG is 20 years old after all.

His point seems to be that romances were tacked onto Kingmaker at some point during production, however, they were a part of WoTR since its inception.

*Sigh* If I had a choice between romance options, and diverting the labour of the team into writing more options for NPCs to recognise player race or class, I would ignore the romance shit. Must be alotta miserable fucks out there.

The Anna romance in PST was the best: short, sweet, to the point, and she had a tail that she used to...sqeeze your leg while kissing her. What de fuck else do want with a girl?. Big tiddy, tailed, horny GF. And the game was smart enough to say: "Ok, after all this shit is done, we can bump uglies - in the mean time lets concentrate more on weapon skill, thieving skills, and magical abilities, ok?".

Just shows you where modern gamer priorities are. And now that there are 100s of fucking gender/identity routes to choose from, they have to expand the romance options and take more labour & time away from the writers. It's enough to make a 40 year old gamer fucking rant about this shit on the Codex.

If you ask me, they are missing big time on making a romanceable dragon. From what I know, there's a mommy silver dragon that brings protagonist back on his feet from being nearly killed and then some big bad demon offs her 10 seconds into the game, what a waste. At least there's Wenduag.
