For reference/in relation to the debate about OPness/how to handle Unfair, this is my current rough party plan (remember I'm respeccing party members):

MC Natural Attacker Demon
Regill Shield Basher
? Cavalier
Arueshalae ranged DPS of some sort, probably a ranger
Camellia Shaman (no archetype, seems incredibly shit to lose Animal Companion with her base Spirit Hunter thingy)
Ember Stigmatized Witch

Wrath is considerably more difficult than Kingmaker, especially the optional bosses. Certain areas from chapter 3 on really spike difficulty, too.

To me it looks like you're missing a proper cleric for Domain access. I'd suggest turning the Cavalier into a Sanctified Slayer with animal domain so you can then get the Domain Zealot and Additional Domian mythic abilities. I wouldn't want to play without domain access, they are just too useful (Nobility, Community, and Madness especially).

Arue's base class is very good (uses CHA for spellcasting which I never noticed until Desi pointed it out), but if you want to respec her I'd suggest Freebooter (for party buffs) or Rogue 4/Slayer 16 (for debilitating injury, high AB, and good sneak damage).

I think the Shaman class is good alongside a cleric or oracle but I wouldn't want to replace them with one.

Which companion would people recommend as my sixth? I'm going Ember, Arueshalae, Camellia, Regill because those seem like the most interesting. But I dunno about the last one. Any recommendations?

Daeran or Wendaug. Both have some good party banters when camping. Daeran has the best interactions with Ember.

Greybor would be the other realistic option, but I think the other two are more interesting.

Very useful, thanks. I'm thinking of making the Cavalier a Paladin to make up for lack of Skald - but I have no feelings for Shaman really. Could easily just make Camellia an actual Cleric.

I would ideally like to avoid their super sperg-friendly four-classes-dips into multiclassing.

Fort is weak save for Fae, and not much Fae in Wrath. But not just Fae:

Hadn't figured out how good Fast Bombs were yet and trying to get there with Bow (notice Linzi's peashooter which is where I got down on ranged Bard). Blind does set up good attacks and defense tho.



One of tougher fights in P:K, Blind huge help here. 30 vs 21 not great but easier to debuff saves in Wrath and with Fast Bombs can force multiples when needed. Hadn’t started using Cognato yet.

I guess game knows I wanted to make a melee heavy party with a Skald so offered me this Tailwind:

What do you guys recommend as main character and what Mythic path should I go for 3rd Voyage with above Tailwind?

No it's fucking terrible. The ability is very hard to scale as it isn't properly tagged as a Sonic ability so it doesn't benefit from any of the Sonic DC boosting items. I think the only item that I managed to boost it with was the Fortitude save robe. The damage is pathetic and the status effects will never trigger because the enemy will always save.

Well, if you play on baby mode it might be ok.

I am confused, what Sonic ability are you talking about? Battle Scion Skald is like normal Skald but can also share teamwork feats?!

He’s got the wrong class. And he’s still stuck on Vivi dip being cheesy instead of just bad. Sometimes Yosharian is very good, and sometimes he’s way out-of-date/clueless.

These days I’m in the same boat since haven’t played in awhile.

I didn't like the Brown-Fur Transmuter that much when I used it in DLC 3. It just felt like added baggage to carry about most of the time.

You already have a lot of decent arcane buffs with the Skald, might be better off taking an Oracle with Life + Fire second mystery for ray blasting or an Ecclisitheurge of Gozreh for eventual Weather domain Siroccos. Could also put a Shaman or Witch in there for Hexes?

You are lacking some divine power, so either Daeran or Sosiel(or Lann specced into some divine caster) Daern is the most interesting one, leagues above 2 others I mentioned.

You are lacking some divine power, so either Daeran or Sosiel(or Lann specced into some divine caster) Daern is the most interesting one, leagues above 2 others I mentioned.

I will have one Cleric or Oracle for sure, that is #4 or #5 character. But they got other good stuff at lvl 3 and 4 as well like Prayer and Divine Power so I cannot fill it with GMW only. Eldritch Trickster might be for some other party, I want to avoid as much gish characters that cannot take rage bonuses and I already got Bloodrager that has similar access to spells as Trickster. Also I do lack ranged attacks but I was thinking of trying one run without having one :D Plan is to keep everyone Hasted all the time and use that good movespeed to move into melee easily. Most battles happen at low ranges and rare are ranged dudes that stand on a platform that you need to move around to reach.

In the main game they're great. In the DLC all full arcane casters tend to feel like luggage because of severely limited rests and not wanting to cast spells due to saving them for big fights. Eventually, as you get deeper into the expeditions, every fight ends up a big fight so they quickly end up with no spells and relying on spamming consumables which anyone with UMD can do equally well.

I thought just as you but Wenduag to bored me quick enough to regret that decision and I'm getting Lann instead of her nearly all the time right now. She's just a power hungry bug-cat thingy. Yeah I concur. That's why I love Mystic Theurge in the Islands DLC but even then I got that as a 5th or last party member because of slow start.

This is why this time I wanted to go more martial characters so few full casters I have can be in supporting role instead of needing to do all the damage.

#2 is Battle Scion Skald that will be providing Pounce to everyone and probably lethal stance. I have this guy Glaive so he can provide flanked and can do bonus damage. For now I took extra rage music and lingering rage music but later I will be taking TeamWork feats and probably extra rage power feat so he will never be focused on direct damage dealing.

As far as I know, a Battle Scion can't take Extra Rage Power feats. That's like his only (but potentially important) disadvantage.

Haven’t played one since Alpha but I think to get the most out of one you’ve also got the Transmute the BFT itself since you want to use all your Slots and Arcane Pool on buffs.

Natural Attacks work well with 1/2 classes since they don’t use iteratives (you get your attacks up front). The BFT ability makes up for the lower AB.

If you're going to play Wend straight Fighter double Throwing Axe gets absurd, although at least they "fixed" being able to train both Axes and Throwing with Duelist Gloves giving +2 to each one.

Fighter gets Point-Blank Master so she could tank with (double) Ranged Weapons, Greater Snap Shot, Seize the Moment, and Fighter's Tactics. With Legendary Proportions if anybody crits basically anywhere she Throws a very large/heavy Axe on top.

Camellia is not loosing animal companion. Thing is, any shaman can get a pet with one of the spirits... but they normally only come at level... 16. Only way around this is Wildlands Shaman - a half-orc locked archetype who starts with a pet.

But indeed Cams archetype isn't great post EB nerf. Something like a Shadow Shaman would be better.
