Honestly maybe I just have low standard, but Valerie is kinda fine? Yeah not divine beauty like she is supposed to be but not outright bad. The hair and expression also makes it look worse than it should be. If she is drawn smiling and with better hair I would think that she will look much better.

Isn't her expression and short-hair done by purpose to fit her "I'm beautiful but I hate it" kind back story?

Anyway I hope we get better romance option this time, Kingmaker's romance option really sucks.

Yeah thats the point. She is not ugly per se but intentionally try to look ugly. People complained that her portrait is ugly and I was pointing out that should the portrait have different expression/hair with the same face it won't look that bad.

Huh, either devs are starting to make cuter women all of a sudden or my heterosexual side is awakening again. She's mine, Roguey.
Do not succumb to the influence of the men of Wö, homo comrade Lacrymas.

Have a qt lad instead,
iu

N-No homo, just admiring the beauty of man and harboring disdain for womyn on the 'dex.

Sir, this is a picture of Helen Hunt.

If you're going to fuck women, you might as well fuck women.

Well everyone in Kingmaker except Valerie looked fine to me, which is why it's so frustrating that she was the one renowned for her beauty.

Looks aren't the (only) problem. Amiri did get butched up as well too tho I think.

Val's problem was that they lost their nerve on her companion quest.

"I'll be less brazen with my snobbery" is hardly the stuff of God-swaying moral breakthroughs.

I'm legitimately hyped for this game. It's sad this thread is half the size of the Original Sin 3 thread.

I finished Pathmaker Kingfinder not so long ago (maybe a week) and I kinda feel the same. Queenmaker was deeply deeply flawed in its design and had a flood of bugs. But it also had unmatched levels of charm and kind of writing I missed for years in western RPGs. I'm really hyped to see what Owlcat can do, now when they have more experience creating games like these.

I miss IWD. No problems with annoying companions and their bullshit, no romances, no content gated behind dragging around NPCs you don't like. Just create your own party: can be balanced, can be for power gaming, can be 6 gnome barbarians (or monks) if you want.

I wonder how you made Barbarians and Monks in the first IWD.
Play IWD2. When I said IWD I meant both games. The point is, in WoTR you'll have a crazy number of classes and archetypes, but unless you want to miss a large part of the game and take a hit to the crusade sidegame you'll have to use the story companions. In Kingmaker up until some late patch you couldn't even use mercenaries as advisors (and even now they get a penalty), so you had to keep companions around for the barony government.

Thanks to the "Eldritch Arcana" mod, where you can assign a religion to every character you make, I also discovered that the deity you choose does affect some dialogue lines. For example, my worshipper of Nethys had additional lines to share with the tiefling sisters. Not much, but still a pleasant surprise. I guess that's how you recognise true gems - from those small, additional touches.

I donated some to the ongoing codex campaign to create a quest. I wrote my idea for the quest here.

Basically I would like to make the new Blakemoor quest analogous the Cleves first hand experiences of the LA Uprisings. Id est Blakemoor protecting himself and his beautiful wife from hideous creatures of the dark.

I would also like to suggest the idea that Blakemoor becomes so jarred from what he has seen that he later settles in the faraway continent of Sarusan.
