Can one of you that has Sawyers ear on social platforms ask him if he can talk about Stronghold improvements coming in TWM2 and if some are coming. I remember him mentioning some.

Also if possible ask him how hard would be to add a trigger into couple of places of main quest where they check if your Stronghold value is higher than X and in that case some title is added in front of your name in few conversations and NPCs recognize you as a major land owner and not a random scrub (like at trial where nobody knows who you are). Also it would be cool that once your Stronghold value goes over X Defiance Bay sends a representative of sorts to be your liaison with the rulers of Defiance Bay .

Or it would be cool if certain military commanders in Defiance Bay would comment negative about your leadership if Keeps defense is 5 or 10 points below its trade value.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
That's the thing with Obsidian, they really go through the effort to figure all that shit out. They probably have the whole world of Eora planned and figured out down to geology.

Meanwhile in Fallout 4, computers and nuka cola machines are magically working after 200 years in an abandoned village with no electricity.
Funny, I was rather disappointed they hadn't done all their homework in that regard. For evidence, Sawyer himself has said on a couple of occasions that they "included elves and dwarves because we had to have them" and "we added some twists to two other races". And everything else about the setting was way more arbitrary than I would have liked. DAO has more elaborate lore than PoE, which is understandable given its development time. But if you are measuring a game's lore against FO4's, you can't find much worse than that.

Not having super specific info on enemies or the whole travel fatigue thing are super mild inconveniences. I can't be the only one who sees this stuff as superficial tinkering. None of this saves the games main story from feeling like a rush job mess after the animancer trial or how the white march is filled with enemies just like the ones in the original game but with stun techniques. Maybe he isn't announcing actual substantial changes over social media but still... This all seems like mere minutia.
It's really useless to hope that they will somehow turn the gameplay around with a post-release patch. They've already messed up what they have messed up, and are trying to hide the ugliest parts with patching the stronghold and ironing out the combat mechanics. That's it. What exactly did you expect them to do with the story in particular, through a patch?

supermonkeytimeforce asked: Any details available on what Story Time mode will entail? I'm pretty excited because I love the world and characters of PoE, but I am miserably bad at the combat.

Story Time uses the encounter composition of Normal difficulty but biases the math heavily in the player’s favor. Enemies have lower stats overall. Party members Crit more often, especially when enemies are at low Endurance. Enemies have increased Recovery (attack less frequently), crit far less, have inaccurate Disengagement Attacks, do less damage overall, and do much less damage against party members who are at low Endurance. Hostile status effects on party members are reduced in duration. The party can also carry (effectively) unlimited Camping Supplies.

Maybe not the right thread but is White March worth getting? I am at level 7 in my first playthrough of PoE and really enjoying it despite a lot of flaws. Not sure if I should rush to get White March now or save it for a second playthrough someday.

You're in the right thread...and at the right level, too. White March content (except for Cragholdt Bluffs which is a separate high level area) is tuned for level 7 characters.

It'll make the rest of the game easy, though, so after you're done you might want to wait for Part 2 and Patch 3.0 which will increase the difficulty of late game encounters.

Interesting, but almost makes me think I should just finish the game as-is and save the rebalance and expansion content for a second go. I don't really want to put my playthrough on hold, I want to enjoy games while I am actually enjoying them (it's been a while).

You should do that. And you can take different NPCs in your second run

I attempted Nalrend the Wise at level 9 on PotD. Even with the bullshit priest spells, it did not end well.

Currently forcing myself to play this. (the original, not the expansion) Is anyone else annoyed by how pretentious and overly long some of the character and places names are? Shit like Aeuregoneir or Haaenoghath or Aedyr Glafnafth
I mean I was coming up with names like these in the 8th grade. ok maybe I don't get it and they're supposed to be Gaelic or something

It's a fantasy game. Given the context, I didn't think twice about flowery names.

If there's just going to be one patch it better be comprehensive.

It's a great way of checking at a glance who's idle and doing what.

Better than cluttering up the battlefield with that info.

"Coming soon to 3.0, Disco Mode" "Also in patch 3.0, new hd terrain and map specific walking and sneaking sound effects"

Damn... even in the new "story mode" i see that "hostile effects will be reduced in duration" So basically, the stun enemies in TWM will still be intolerable... Why even create a braindead mode if you're not gonna go full simplicity.... gotta. love. it.

You can fucking see what's going on by looking at the screen.
Aren't we talking about PoE here? Sometimes you have to unpause and pause again just to get stuff out of the way. And tough luck if you get engaged under trees or other clutter.

Well in the default game you can just hold TAB - *bing*, and you can see everyone's combat HUD. When I played I had that disabled with the IE mod "one tooltip at a time" function and I still didn't have any issues with figuring out who was and was not idle.

Good for you, I was very irritated by how you cannot see anything in PoE. Mostly because of blinding spell effects and cover everything.
