Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I must say, I don't get that criticism. Twin Elms felt a lot more lively and interesting than Defiance Bay, it let the tragedy of the Hollowborn sink in (children everywhere!) and it featured some of the most beautiful backgrounds in the game.

Twin Elms is kind of like Fallout 2's San Francisco (not as derpy, of course) in that it feels like an out-of-context speed bump in what should be an exciting final act. I suggested that it could have been tied more directly to the game's plot by giving Thaos a Glanfathan accomplice you'd have to overcome before proceeding: http://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/132635024916/was-twin-elms-originally-supposed-to-have-a-more

Its saving grace is the Council of Stars which is top notch writing. And yeah, it is a nice-looking place with kids running around and playing and stuff.

I can't be the only one who sees this stuff as superficial tinkering.

You're not. Almost everything they've done post release is superficial tinkering. I'm one of the people who loved the shit out of launch version of PoE, but their post-release support frustrates me to no end.

All the other recent RPGs get meaningful support and improvements after launch. Meanwhile Sawyer spend last 6 months masturbasting whether Paladin should have 11 or 12 base Deflection. Get fucked.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
I feel rather stupid right now for two reasons. First, I missed the area west of Searing Falls, which was required for Sagani's quest. No wonder I did not complete it.

Second, I made my first playthrough so much harder on PotD simply because I did not primarily use custom companions. The ability to fine tune the party makes such a tremendous difference. Specifically, Priest and Barbarian make a good pair with the accuracy buffs. The accuracy buffs combined with the Firebrand weapon and repulsion seal trivializes a lot of smaller encounters. For boss/bounty encounters, I combine Ectopsychic Echo with Chanter summons.

Also, the bounty fights do not feel well thought out for the most part. While these fights feel like a step-up from most encounters, I do not know why Obsidian placed so many outdoors. With the outdoor encounters, I noticed that the enemy formation gets horribly messed up if you use a chanter's frost trap and run the the enemies to the other side of the map. In contrast, I already expect the Ogre bounty in the cave to be much harder.

From what we have seen so far from Beamdog, i'm not too confident in the "good story experience" part. That SoD will have superior gameplay than PoE is a given, but the same can be said that every BG2 mod in existence.
But yes, if by some miracle SoD somehow turns to be a great storyfag game, it will propably be GOTY for me, bar none (TToN and Underail included)

One dead Sky Dragon.
Obsidian should know better than allow a critter like that to be paralyzed or petrified or stuck, especially when she doesn't have any helpers with her. I killed her mainly with Fetid Caress, for crying out loud!

Patch 2.03 introduced immunities.

I was also slightly over-leveled, and she ended up dying in a Wall of Force. That the party's wizard suffered bruised ribs and a concussion on the way up, made it more satisfying. Good old fashioned dragon slaying is always fun.

I wasn't expecting Siege of Dragonspear to bridge Baldur's Gate and its sequel the way it did, and I was pleasantly surprised, especially looking back from Baldur's Gate II and seeing how the mid-prequel sets the stage for events to come.
Siege made me feel as if I'd come home after a long absence to find old friends waiting for me, with the same life and spark I remembered from when they first journeyed by my side.

Well it cannot be worse than PoE and MCA played it and said it is good. He liked both the new companion and the antagonist. So that both beats PoE as well. We know combat can only be better even if they fuck up the encounters somewhat.

And it will be cheaper than PoE. Also it will have more UI improvements, you cannot have enough of those for older games (I wish someone made a Fallout 1/2 UI mod that made it much easier to use), especially since some of the new features you will be able to turn off if you don't like it (like health bars over enemy). Also they talked about finally making it possible to equip two handed weapon along with weapon + shield in quickslots and change freely between those without a need to swap manually from inventory.

I remember that even MCA mocked their forums for censoring profanity.
I wish it was profanity, fucking mods are idiots along with some users. Someone there reported me for trollling because I said that spells in PoE are result of Low Effort by devs. That devs could not bother implementing new mechanics for every second spell like IE games had so they just made most spells give simple number debuffs.

That would've been a great UI for a mod tool. :argh:
