DeepL is really good somehow

I am using OCR (Ztranslate + Retroarch) for Japanese game and in general the JP - EN translation are great. Much much better than Google or Bing (and Bing was better than Google to begin with).

There's a new translation mod done in DeepL (same as Fate Seeker) that's supposedly much better

Wow, just took a closer look at the DeepL translation and it looks like a HUGE improvement. The original machine translation was damn near indecipherable at some points. Might just have to buy this again (got a refund before because the translation was just too bad - worse than Wuxia Prequel's by quite a bit IMO).

If it has less cutscenes and more exploration than Gujian 3, it'll be better in my book.

RELEASED!
Release 10 July

"The Wind Road" is an ARPG real-time combat game, constructing a martial-arts world based on the ancient Silk Road under the background of a fictional era.

The Barbarians of Grey Wolf have invaded the Silk Road for hundred years! Now they have sent troops to Shazhou with a purpose to capture the important site of Longyou, threatening the safety of tens of thousands of common people.

At this time, the Great Karma Scripture emerges and becomes the key to reverse the fate of Shazhou and even the entire Longyou trade route. The Barbarians are strictly preventing the monks (Scripture Escorts) from sending the Scripture to the Imperial Court, while all the forces in Jianghu who covet the Scripture's secret also go into action. The character's task is originally to help the decent sects escort the monks on their mission. However, he uncovers the secret of Scripture coincidentally after suffering a variety of trails and setbacks in ten days!

Finally, in the choice of fate, the character has to undertake the mission and becomes a real hero, taking the first step to stop the chaos of the world...

Considering buying that, but I am incredibly enjoying playing Ho To Lo Shu right now.

Damn, the game is good. I still enjoy the simulation-RPG side of Tales or Path of Wuxia but I wouldn't mind if Path slamdunk success (altho at lower sales price point) would allow Heluo to make more Open World "normal" RPG like HTLS.

Well, looks like the Chinese users are upset with The Wind Road right out of the gate. It already has mixed reviews on steam, almost all in Chinese. I wonder what they don't like. Must be technical issues.

I'm actually juggling 5 AZN games atm.

From what I played (prologue and part of beginning) combat is p. glorious, a bit overwhelming at first (game throws you in a pseudo bossfight right off the bat). Combos are very powerful but very qi (mana) intensive so it's all about waiting for an opening (a succesful combo might instagib a group of mooks). Gujian 3 felt more button-mashy in comparison plus I think this game is completely solo.

The game seems mainly sword-focused but there's unarmed and hidden weapon too, dunno if there are staves and such.

The devs had some guys in their free time do the translation but it's competent enough so far (and will continue to be updated). I expected way worse.

The mixed reviews complain a lot about the save system - there's no manual save which is usually not a problem but in this game right off the bat some ppl got stuck when you need to search around an inn to trigger an event. I can imagine if you don't immediately get what to do it can get annoying with no quicksave.

I've had no performance issues even though it's a Unity game.

I think I gonna like this better than Gujian 3.

EDIT: seems there's already a patch out that deals with the saving, etc.

abnaxus, is there any decent exploration to it, or is it more or less a linear hall that leads you from fight to fight?

EDIT: Also, what are the 5 AZN games you're playing?

Curious about chinese cRPGs and kind of want to play one, but don't want something typically chinese knock-off, Grade C (C for Counterfeit) level. Of the Tales of Wuxia series, what's the one to play? Or is there something even better?

I recommend Tale of Wuxia if you don't mind simulation elements and time management. I prefer Tale of Wuxia: Pre-Sequel if you prefer a more traditional take on RPGs. Overall, I prefer the Tale of Wuxia: Pre-Sequel, but when it comes to developing your characters stats and abilities, I prefer the first Tale of Wuxia. Both are great games. If you can get Ho Tu Lo Shu to run on your PC, I highly recommend that you play it with the English patch. Heluo has set up Steam Workshop, so you can download it from there.

The Gate of Firmament is a decent game. There's also the Gujian series, but the first two have no translations. On the other hand, the first game seems to be getting an English fan patch. I'm not sure how far along that one is.

Here's another one. It also has an English fan patch.

Can't wait for Scroll of Taiwu to get fully released and a full translation. It looks really really damn good.
