I wish the game didn't suck dick. The map is absolutely incredible, it's massive, beautiful and detailed, everything I wanted in a wild-west game, but the gameplay itself is like pulling teeth. Rockstar excels at being realistic through taking the worst parts of reality and putting it into their games while forgetting about the fun parts. Railroading in this game's missions was insane. Some video summed it up really well with some stealth mission where everyone I know including myself tried to sneak on to the unguarded roof and go through a window right next to the objective but that either didn't do anything or immediately failed the mission because "Arthur was caught" or some worthless reason that's not actually true and is covering for the fact the entire experience is on-rails. Lock-on aiming made the combat braindead, the weapons all act the same as the others besides shotguns and the projectile weapons. Your cores are constantly draining (Honestly surprised there's not a bodily waste core), your guns are constantly saddled on your horse and not on your person, cutscenes automatically unequip your weapons so even though your constantly spamming the unholster button to keep the fucking gun you want in Arthur's hands it's still fucking on your horse and you get shot to death since you only have access to your shitty, dirty, broken pistols. Oh and of course even though the game is """realistic""" Arthur is still mowing down dozens of enemies a mission while tanking hundreds of bullets. And we're supposed to feel bad when he gets TB. Bro just regenerate your health!!!! Next game, make a mission realistic by just giving you an objective and you can accomplish it any way you want. Make the character die in 2-3 bullets, don't make random weapons disappear from your inventory because you forgot them in your car or whatever bullshit retards will shout "TECHNOLOGY" at. One adds to the gameplay, tone of the game, and feeling you get while playing it and experiencing the story. The other is a worthless fucking annoyance that wastes time. If you're worried about ruined cinematic chase sequences that every R* game has by the dozens, just give them a pathing route that either has a hard end or loops. Let the player participate if they want, or circumvent the traditional strategy if they want. Not that difficult.

I will buy on PC only if it runs decently (it won't), and has a robust roleplaying community on the RDO equivalent of RAGEMP. which won't be available for several years I'm betting. Roleplaying in GTA O was actually really fun and fleshed out, not much janky script fuckery or nonwhites like in GTA:SA. The community is cool as long as you don't fuck with power-tripping, power gaming "gang leaders" or "police chiefs". Thankfully, it looks like R* is putting in the needed basic assets such as the killer-hunter-seller job trinity as well as houses (datamining shows housing slots and values, so it's coming eventually).

Yea Idk but RDR 2 is very boring, i don't know how rockstar managed it, but it's their first game that I dropped in about 10%

I got to play the first few hours of the PS4 version, music and dialogue writing were fantastic. Definitely gonna D1P on Steam :bounce:

The overall structure is the same. On the gameplay side, Red Dead is a lot more simulation and immersion heavy. For example lever pulling on lever rifles is manual, and the same applies to revolvers. On the writing side, it's very serious. It's a western drama.

And yeah I would suggest it. It's top 3 games I've played this gen.

It's absolutely fantastic, but I wouldn't compare it to GTA, apart from mission structure. It's like RDR1, but different location and year.
The story is long, but very rewarding. Atmosphere and setting are brilliant. I've played on PS4 and everything is smooth running, so I expect excellent performance on PC, just like GTA5.

Gang members are fun, mini games are fun, hunting is shitloads of fun, robbing shit, gunfights and duels, catching wild horses. I'm obviously a sucker for Westerns, although this game is more depicting the end of Wild West.

You'll appreciate the story more if you played RDR1.

I decided to check out the online yesterday and I found myself constantly stopping to look at scenery and the marvels the lighting engine comes up with. Whoever was responsible for it deserves a fucking award. I can't wait to see PC screenshots. Will probably be the best looking game out there for the next decade easily for the lighting alone.

Some sort of weird punishment-style exclusivity where it releases everywhere except Steam on Nov 5? Well that’s a fun trick, I guess. Wonder who paid for it.

Not entirely against buying it on their own launcher I guess since that shit is going to run it no matter where you buy it and I think I already have an account, but I’m getting pretty tired of these release date shenanigans. Maybe I’ll just ignore this until I upgrade my computer in a year or so... or forever.

This is very encouraging, means that the PC release is coming without a shadow of a doubt.
I prefer to wait for the "RDR2 Announced for PC" ones

The game was complete with little no glitches. There wasn't anything to beta test
That's fine, but now on PC it will come out with much better graphics.

I remember watching this recently and thinking, imagine what they will do with this when they are done with the PC version:

Played it and enjoyed it on PS4 Pro. But I won't double dip. It was a decent game but not good enough to buy it again and play though it again. But it's nice that PC is getting it and getting the best version. Would be nice to see what mods the community manage to make

I'll D30P this as soon as it lands on Steam, hot damn. Thought it was going to be exclusive to their own launcher and I'd grumble but buy it anyway, but I'm glad that's not the case. And Epic's just buying a month of exclusivity which is far, far less of a pain in the ass. One of the few big budget games that I'd happily plonk down $60 for.

Bare hand brawling looks pretty good in this game. Is it?
It's pretty basic to be honest. There's block, punch and grab. There's no combos really (unless you count mashing punch a combo) and you just have to react to incoming punches or blocks by the other player/NPC.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Main problem with the game was how rail-roaded the missions were. Deviate even a little and you are met with a game over screen. Also trying to make money by doing side activities are utterly pointless, because you get a shit ton of money right from the beginning by doing a few main quests. It makes all the survival aspects of the game, like collecting pelts, robbing stores etc, totally pointless. And as usual in Rockstar games there is a huge disconnect from story and the actual situation in the game. The main character and his friends keep complaining about money while you sit on 10k+. Also there is no decisions to be made in the game. You can see bad things coming a mile away, and the main character even acknowledge it at times but he still keep trucking like nothing - in other words the main character is a pawn for the story and it gets frustrating to see after a while.
