It shouldn't even have autosave. It's one of those things that makes no sense in this genre.

Off to a bad start, started up the game and played through to the Police Station (well more like watched as it was mostly cut scenes, though they were fairly well done). I used the computer which I'm guessing is meant to play a video of a guy getting attacked by a zombie, because the screen went completely black and I couldn't see anything.

Have to restart as I was playing on Hardcore mode, on the bright side I managed to run out of ammo fairly quickly and the game has a great atmosphere.

The Original soundtrack swap is poorly implemented. Walking through doorways (sometimes even open archways) into other rooms causes a very sudden music swap over. It doesn't blend at all, and it just takes all enjoyment out of using it.

The most retarded part is that it's a paid thing. I assume it's just a simple audio swap taken from the soundtrack CD, which could be as easily modded by anyone. Wtf.

Try switching the Direct X mode. It worked for me in the demo when I had that same issue.

I was so hype for this but now it all sounds fucking awful.

Why would they do a remake if they're going to change so much iconic shit, like the music and the trek through the city in the beginning? It's a classic fucking opening scene for crying out loud.

Yo, that live action trailer looks like doo doo.:lol:

Fuck you, I love the zombies attacking Thriller-style and the mannequin being shot at the end.

Seems really well made for the most part, so far. I'm not a fan of some of the modernized shit though. I don't understand why items need a big "PRESS BUTTON TO COLLECT" prompt to appear on the screen when I'm like 10 feet away from them. The shimmer effect worked well enough and was infinitely less distracting.

Also the map gives way too much away now. I'm playing on fucking "hardcore", so give me pure oldschool obtuse Resident Evil, cocksuckers.

But those are minor complaints. They still seem to have nailed the survival aspect. I can't get away with shooting every fucker in the face because I will have zero bullets fast. And the game is an audio/visual treat. I dig it.

Btw, can you click in anything(paitings, papers in the wall, drawers, etc) and get things like "there is nothing here" or some descriptions about the thing you clicked? I really liked those in RE.

No, that would require the player to stop for a moment and appreciate the ambiance of the setting around them. You need the player to be constantly running around and distract them with gore effects and explosions so they don't notice how shitty the game is.

It's pretty damn good, if you don't expect it to be like RE2, lol.

I'd place it right after RE4 in my list of over-the-shoulder RE games.

I despise the over-the-shoulder RE games.

However, if they were molded like how this one is then they'd all be a lot better. I enjoy that ammo is actually a precious resource again and enemies don't drop shit like you're playing Diablo. I think something bugged out in my game though because even though I got the magnum as soon as I went to the sewers section it disappeared entirely. Now I have 20 magnum bullets rotting away in my item box and I'm doing some of the most insane bobbin-and-weaving you'll ever see to conserve as much as possible.

Oh yeah, whoever decided that L3 on a controller should be how you run deserves to be gutted like a fish.

Yo real talk, I felt bad for that trucker in the beginning. He looks like a sweet man just trying to enjoy that juicy ass burger and listening to some Coast 2 Coast AM. Then some cannibalistic jaywalking filth goes and ruins it all.

Don't expect a RE2 remake to be like RE2 :)

I would actually respect them more if they made it totally over the top like RE4 and the ones that came after. Drop kicking zombies and stuff. Game looks so damn static. It didn't transition to 3D well at all.

Watched some gameplay videos, looks like a third person RE7. Gonna play RE6's Mercenaries instead, a much better deal as I don't need to waste $60.
