Probably should have done a search. :/
I do like the Initial Hate and Still Hate thread, though, but that feels like every day here.
No, I created it after you suggested it.

I regret finishing my favorite cRPGs because I didn't want them to end.

Finishing Dragon Age: Origins was like a bi-curious adventure taken too far.

Are you me? I am still regretting ever finishing all of my fav rpgs and then sadly like a hopeless drug addict playing the new releases only to feel the bitter taste of ashes in my mouth as not a single one of them ever comes closes to my favs
It is a sad day for me having read this, because this is exactly how I feel.
Now I have to look at this picture and weep at my lost youth
Mine has to be Dragon Age 2.
I really enjoyed Origins, so much so that I managed 6 full playthroughs, and it's story left me wanting more. DA:2 arrived and it was a torturous, painful slog from start to finish, but I kept pushing through it with the hope that some of that "9/10" quality may actually appear. Mostly based on my enjoyment of DA:O
What a fucking waste.
I learned to enjoy Dragon Age II the moment I started treating it as what it originally was - an expansion/DLC to the first game, and a setup to Inquisition's events.
That's like learning to love having your uncle anally fist you because it's an expansion of "family love".
Are you such a coombrain that you can't find any metaphor beyond pornography?
Just finished this and also didn't care for it. The game is a long slog that is never fun and I'm of the opinion that Avellone is a hack that never really designed RPGs but instead made visual novels in the guise of an RPG. And tasteless gaymers that have never read a book in their lives eat it up.KotOR 2. It's kind of amazing that a game that starts out so terrible somehow manages to get even worse as it goes along.
I've replayed it last year and I agree with you. Another thing I really detested is the game taking control from you and forcing you to play as other characters, like that Han-Solo-expy or the robot ball. Let me play my own character FFS.KotOR 2. The storyline just comes apart in the last act, which is a shame given how good the first part of the game builds towards it.
That's a big thing that annoyed me. It was frequent. Controlling other characters and choosing their dialogue, some of the characters I never even wanted in my party like Mira, you have to control her in a boring slog part of the game too. You have to take all possible companions on your ship with no way to really tell them to kick rocks because they're needed for future scenes where you have to control them.I've replayed it last year and I agree with you. Also why did Chris Avellone insert himself as an old woman's power fantasy? Fucking weirdo.
Explaining why something is shit doesn't excuse it being shit. They should've considered cutting down the 7 hour tutorial if they wanted to put more effort into later parts of the game.Has it ever occurred to you fucking retards that maybe a lot of this stuff was meant to be fleshed out if the game hadn't been rushed out in 18 months?
The things I mentioned are intentional design choices, not something done because they were pressed for time.Has it ever occurred to you fucking retards that maybe a lot of this stuff was meant to be fleshed out if the game hadn't been rushed out in 18 months?
Imagine not wanting Chris Avellone's old woman power fantasy being imposed on you.
