DAI - ending was missing
DOS2 - don't know why I even finished it with the infuriating mandatory item upgrades at every fucking level and I didn't care about the story/becoming a god one bit. also companions were shit (I'm surprised BG3's companions are mostly interesting in the demo)
TOW - ending level made no fucking sense from gameplay or narrative perspective; its mind boggling how the final version of the game passed QA or Tim & Leo's scrutiny and double mind-boggling so few has pointed it out to obsidian in/out of the codex, guess very few finished it or no one cares lmao

KotOR 2. The storyline just comes apart in the last act, which is a shame given how good the first part of the game builds towards it.

All slogs that I pushed through but found nothing rewarding at the end. Luckily now I have kids so don't have time to complete most of the modern garbage and be disappointed.

I regret finishing my favorite cRPGs because I didn't want them to end.

:negative:

Are you me? I am still regretting ever finishing all of my fav rpgs and then sadly like a hopeless drug addict playing the new releases only to feel the bitter taste of ashes in my mouth as not a single one of them ever comes closes to my favs

It is a sad day for me having read this, because this is exactly how I feel.

Now I have to look at this picture and weep at my lost youth

Finishing Dragon Age: Origins was like a bi-curious adventure taken too far.

LOOOL! ... This ... this is TRUE.

I have to confess I took too many screenshots of certain "roleplaying" events between my dwarf main character and other characters out of sheer juvenile silliness :mixedemotions:

Mine has to be Dragon Age 2.

I really enjoyed Origins, so much so that I managed 6 full playthroughs, and it's story left me wanting more. DA:2 arrived and it was a torturous, painful slog from start to finish, but I kept pushing through it with the hope that some of that "9/10" quality may actually appear. Mostly based on my enjoyment of DA:O

What a fucking waste.

I learned to enjoy Dragon Age II the moment I started treating it as what it originally was - an expansion/DLC to the first game, and a setup to Inquisition's events.

That's like learning to love having your uncle anally fist you because it's an expansion of "family love".

Are you such a coombrain that you can't find any metaphor beyond pornography?

"coombrain"? I love it when you talk dirty to me.

DA2, ME2,3, PoE1,2, WL2, Witcher 2, Fallout 3...

Although mine is not regret in a classical sense, more like a post nut clarity and seeing clearly the troglodyte who's smeared its anal juice all over my sack and then my face in the mirror. Yeah okay, maybe regret is the correct choice of emotion. But there's also sadness, fear and loathing...

KotOR 2. It's kind of amazing that a game that starts out so terrible somehow manages to get even worse as it goes along.
Just finished this and also didn't care for it. The game is a long slog that is never fun and I'm of the opinion that Avellone is a hack that never really designed RPGs but instead made visual novels in the guise of an RPG. And tasteless gaymers that have never read a book in their lives eat it up.

It's always the same pretentious yet amateurish garbage from him. "Last of the Handmaidens," "Grieving Mother," "Fall-from-Grace." Boring.

I've replayed it last year and I agree with you. Another thing I really detested is the game taking control from you and forcing you to play as other characters, like that Han-Solo-expy or the robot ball. Let me play my own character FFS.

That's a big thing that annoyed me. It was frequent. Controlling other characters and choosing their dialogue, some of the characters I never even wanted in my party like Mira, you have to control her in a boring slog part of the game too. You have to take all possible companions on your ship with no way to really tell them to kick rocks because they're needed for future scenes where you have to control them.

There was also constant scene shifts where characters plotted against the player, which makes no sense. The big reveal of Darth Traya had already been heavy handedly foreshadowed dozens of times by the time she finally super betrays you and reveals herself as a sith, which by the way, she will reveal herself as a sith to the player in a flashback way before that.

I didn't try to but I'm guessing you can't even kill those three jedi masters when you meet them, because they're needed for the scene where Kreia saves you.

Also why did Chris Avellone insert himself as an old woman's power fantasy? Fucking weirdo.

Has it ever occurred to you fucking retards that maybe a lot of this stuff was meant to be fleshed out if the game hadn't been rushed out in 18 months?

Imagine not wanting Chris Avellone's old woman power fantasy being imposed on you.

Explaining why something is shit doesn't excuse it being shit. They should've considered cutting down the 7 hour tutorial if they wanted to put more effort into later parts of the game.

I'm going to be a better man than you by walking away from the old Peragus fight. I'm not going to respond to you and this proves that I'm a very mature and sophisticated adult. I bet you're so fucking mad now.

Mass Effect 3 (the ending fucked up the entire trilogy)

Recently finished PoE2 and liked a lot about it, but the end made much of the game feel pointless to me.

I feel that a lot of RPGs, even the great ones, often have unsatisfying endings.

The things I mentioned are intentional design choices, not something done because they were pressed for time.

Skyrim. This game is disgusting on so many levels and Bethesda decided to mock me by giving me the Special Edition for free.

I will use the Special Edition to play Enderal.

I have to disagree with you there. What I like about him is that he's a storyfag who usually ties that into the mechanics of his games pretty well.
