I'm going to give it a chance since I've been playing the series since original Yakuza on PS2, but can't say I'm very excited that they brought Kiryu back as the protagonist. Kiryu's story should be done with. Kinda seems like Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio had no fresh ideas or balls to implement them after Nagoshi left. Now Kiryu is some wannabe James Bond taking missions from Public Security Section 9 or something, ehhhh.

If Kiryu gets back with Kaoru then I will consider the series REDEEMED. Although I know that he's just gonna end up fucking another 20 pornstar hostesses...

By the way, does this mean that they're abandoning the "Yakuza" branding for all the western releases? :incline: if so.

Didn't know the Dragon of Dojima was also the Emissary from Hell, Japanese Spider-Man.

Nah, pretty sure it's 8, I mean it's hidden in the title even with the infinity symbol. They just stopped with the numbering.

Pretty sure it will be something like Ichiban in Hawaii and Kiryu in Kamurocho type of thing, with them meeting up eventually for showdown in Kamurocho.

Hawaii was pretty natural location btw, probably not as big of a thing now but in 80s Hawaii was a prime spot for Japanese yakuza.

Yeah, serms this is Y8. Hawaii setting could be fun.

Since they renamed RGG 7 to "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" for some godforsaken reason, the rebrand is gonna be even more weird. Is this like a Rambo: First Blood Part 2 kind of situation?
