Id be really curious how many of the ships that are $5k + really did sell?

I cant imagine anyone will spend 18.6k on a bloody ship...Seriously thats like a down payment on a house..
That's what guilds in EVE Online spend routinely on their fleets. I reckon those guys hope to be future guild leaders and major players in the Star Citizen economy with a head start like that.

Eh... I played Eve for years in what is probably the largest super cap alliance in the game (Pandemic Legion) and I don't think its comparable at this stage (I still have a Nyx and pilot in Eve). Most super caps get bought using Moon goo or similar sources of income no one in the game really buys PLEX to resell in order to buy a supercap.

I dunno man....20k is a lot of money....your average gamer / guild master that is on disability doesn't have that kind of cash.

So... is there still going to be a single player component because the multi-player part looks beyond retarded.

And by the way, with so many bad games being thrown around. What actually happened to the 1 that sounded interesting, Infinity? That was to have massive procedural generated planets. It sounded really good when I stopped checking progress like 5 years ago lol.

Became some shitty space combat game that was supposedly going to kickstarter after reality kicked the devs in the face.

Only if you buy enough completionist bundles Haba! Modellers need solid gold toilets to shit on before they can work on the capital ships.

The client size will be 100gb  , inb4 'star citizen killed my ssd'

As I have already said, I would not count on this. The game compression and asset removal is unlikely to yield such high gains that we will be able to reduce our client size to 30-40 GB,” he writes. “The size and number of assets that are left to deliver means that our client size is much more likely to be 100 GB.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-03-12-star-citizens-client-expected-to-be-around-100gb

Also this:

Patches will be pretty huge too. "We are optimising game patching for speed and to only deliver diffs, but this is unlikely to reduce actual patch size," Masker added. "Again, each patch has 100s of assets, each of these assets are at times 200mb, this leads to 2-6GB patches, and if we end up doing a file type re-factor and have to re-download 30-40 per cent of the assets on the hard-drive, then the patch will be 14-20GB."

Looking forward to download 6GB patches every day.

I think that Star Citizen is going to bomb for a very simple reason: They've made a mistake by making it unplayable on normal computers. There's a reason World of Warcrap has continued to be successful: It is very low-spec and playable on people's office machines. Star Citizen won't be. Nobody but those with the most expensive computers can even think of playing it.

By the time it is out PCs that max it out will be long obsolete
But by then, the game will have gotten so much more creep that it will STILL demand more. Remember, it devours your computer NOW and it's only a fraction of the game. Meanwhile, the rate at which computers have been growing has sort of slowed down a lot.

Oh nice. Now plenty of people will be able to compare that to X:Rebirth. Not sure whether it's a good thing or not.

Yep. There's such a thing as lowering graphics details. Us rich gamers tend to forget about that sometimes.

This 3 years old machine can still run everything I've thrown at it. I hope that'll last until the PS5 comes out.

No, when wing commander 2, or most origin games were released they required machines only a few had, they were successfull still. Now the game is not even out and they already received 112 millions, nothing can possibly go wrong for them , game release or not.

That was back when the entire gaming market *WAS* the hardcore enthusiast market.

Well, yeah, if he takes the money and runs, he'll make out like a bandit no matter what.
