So is the gameplay fun? Worth buying the game?
It should run great now on this spec. I had really similar but 3600nonX and 6600XT and it run around 30fps. With 3.17 it should hit 40s to 50s in cities and above 60fps in ships and space.
Also it is not like you need days to play it. Just one evening is enough. I also don't have that much time.
Just make sure to close everything unrelated to Star Citizen because 16GB is still and likely always will be on the borderline for playability on Windows. You'll probably need a page file without more memory. 32GB is recommended and that's fine given that current gen consoles have 16GB with low level optimizations pushing it as hard as it can go. I have a feeling 32GB will be the new requirement for everything once this cross gen bullshit stops.

Don't get em wrong it'll be playable on 16 but it's a hell of a lot smoother at 32 and even a page file on the fastest NVMe drive you can find isn't faster than memory so there will be stutter.

Oh, I don't think creating NPC schedules is the problem here…
… but you know, when we are talking about NPCs shitting schedules, sheets physics, coffee shops, elevator panels, drink stirring mechanics, before having basic game loops in place, a fuck ton of features still missing, 1 incomplete solar system out of the hundred promised and the famous Jesus Tech that will supposedly all this shit actually work without servers imploding still nowhere to be seen, it just laughable.
I always make it a point to visit this thread yearly to catch up on the ladest madness, but Perkel praising the game for managing a whopping 70FPS on a 3080 in an empty room with no actors is the sort of abyssal depths of spiraling insanity I was not prepared for

Coffe shop vendor AI for sc was work done by some new new they hired as form of training before he can be integrated into SQ42 AI team. The stuff they were talking about like bunks etc. is for first for SQ42 maybe later for SC down the line.
Most of CIG resources are focusing on SQ42 for as long as development was. Around 3/4 of people work on SQ42 stuff while rest are doing something in SC.
I still want to see SQ42. Although i would love for them to move all resources to SC.
