I popped into my apartment during lunch and Star Citizen is once again stuck on "Please wait" when it comes time to apply Arena Commander. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled, which is the only solution I see so far on the RSI boards.

Had the same problem. Restart the launcher.
Putting my helmet on was literally the first thing I did. I walked all the way around the hangar with my helmet on. Interacted with everything I could use the F button on.You have to put your helmet on, babe.
They must have released a Shekel Edition of the client for high-ticket backers.
I'll just have to try it when I get off work, because I did try hopping on one of them and the jump seemed really weak. I was starting to think they expect you to wheel up a ladder and open the cockpit.

There'll be a mechanical drop-down ladder that extends from the ship... I think. Something to USE, usually near the front left or middle left of the ship.
gimbaled guns follow the mouse cursor 1:1... meaning that in essence, where you wave your cursor is where your guns fire. The ship nose will lag behind, but gimbaled guns follow near-instantly.

I'm confused. Isn't free movement tracking the point of gimballed guns? Or are you just saying they swivel too quick, or their potential arc of fire is too wide?

This is ridiculous. This is acceptable for an arcade flying game like War Thunder, when everybody uses mouse, but this supposed to be a simulator. No way I will play PvP with this, if this remains the same. Although to be honest, even if they fix this, and the aming reticule wil be fixed like with joystick controls, mouse users will still have an adventage in aiming (although mouse has a disadventage with contolling the ship's movement).I'm confused. There's a fixed reticle in the center of the HUD to indicate the attitude of the ship's nose/the point at which fixed guns will fire. Nothing unusual about that. When using a mouse to fly, you move a second cursor away from the center reticle; currently in Arena Commander, gimbaled guns adroitly follow this mouse cursor, like so:

With a joystick, on the other hand, the gimbaled guns don't move at all and are essentially tied to the attitude of the ship's nose, just like fixed guns would be.
Even if this is "fixed," and notwithstanding how it renders HOTAS obsolete, the very fact that the mouse controls are this simplistic is worrying. I can't think of anything more boring than chasing a mouse cursor for 100+ hours.
The problem is that you don't know what the other player is using in PvP, and they will be an adventage. There should be a setting on the server so you can chose whether if you want to join into an all sim server (with joystick control only), or arcade, or half-sim. This works very good in War Thunder.Uh, what's stopping people from disabling Mouse for Flight Controls, letting Joystick control flight and strictly Gun Control to the more precise mouse.
My point here is both are supposed to be independent to each other.
That is why most planes with rotating turrets/guns have two person playing the role of Pilot & Gunner.
