Nine Sols finished. Good game. Good combat. And a lot harder than I expected.

So here I am at the final boss. It's almost midnight. I'm already tired and have a mild headache. But I'm thinking, it's just another boss fight. Even if it takes a few attempts, I'm going to finish this now.
30 minutes later, after barely scratching phase 2, I'm like
:whatho:
and accepted defeat.

Finished it this morning after like 2 more hours, at least, I don't know. There are 3 phases, of course.

Cool boss, though.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Archaelund. I went a lot further than this in the game, but I uninstalled, and will be waiting for further updates.

I remember that screenshot from many reviews. Excellent art direction and music from Queen. Sadly from what I remember the gameplay wasn't so good. Back when Electronic Arts have had many interesting projects in their portfolio.
For a Resident Evil style of game, it wasn't that bad as reviewers are implying, especially that PC gamer faggot, although it has flaws.
Flaws that overall, one should expect from this kind of games. The first and fifth domain, could've been a lot better, the final domain was a bit too autistic for my taste (a lot of jumping and pointless combat).
However I had some fun with the whole middle part (domains 2,3,4). Especially with the Theater domain, where you have to set up the stage to confront Mephistopheles.

There was also a hilariously surrealistic moment in the theater's basement, when a piano instrumental version of " Who wants to live for ever" started playing while I was crashing zombies' heads!
I mean, you'll never see this kind of stuff in modern shit.

Also this one

Shortly after the end of the world when the culture was still coasting on the fumes of vitality of a bygone age Finnish developer Remedy was there to take a snapshot of the moment seconds before it ended. The New York city skyline featured in the game soon to become just as defaced as the last remaining recognisable parts of America. Maybe jet fuel can't melt steel beams, but Tyche and Fortuna can both collapse your national pillars all the same. Microsoft was putting together their last solid OS, the Steve Ballmer era starting out misleadingly strong without any sign of them handing the company over to an elite human poopital retard CEO focused on smartphones, or the descent into sheer incompetency that awaited. A decade of unlife before rigor mortis set in was all that was afforded to anyone. Gaben had yet to turn all PC games into butchered rentals with Steam. Films were still shot on film.

Max Payne, much like Silent Hill 3, was a punctuation mark for everything that preceded it. It was the end of an era. The summation of a bygone zeitgeist. As good as video game texture work got without relying on an abundance of shaders, post-processing, bloom to cover things up, normal maps, and the rest of it. The level of interactivity introduced with Duke Nukem 3D, in part because Scott Miller and George Broussard produced it. From a period when secret service agents were seen as menacing and not homosexual morons with an insatiable hunger for total citizen death, wearing squeaking clown shoes on their feet and the ideology of the current year deep state on their sleeve.

I dread what the remake has in store for us when it arrives considering the current state of Remedy. At least Shiny had the good sense to not persist in this doomed timeline, they produced a sister game of Max Payne, Path of Neo, and then promptly went out of business before they could tarnish their own legacy.
