Yeah, 4:3 CRTs are the ideal way to play old games especially, which were never meant to be played widescreen. After one too many moves I've discarded all of mine, but kinda wish I hadn't.

While that may have influenced my taste, I was trying to keep the intended dreary atmosphere, so I chose a middleground between SUPERHAPPY FULL SATURATION and the original black-and-white-and-red. Since the "dark world" is still permanently B&W, I don't think I lose much of the original atmosphere.

I went with a really washed-out look, but still bright colors. Might try darker, it does look good in your shots.

I can play them in 1600x1200 on my 16:10 monitor. I mainly live the crisp look of LCD, really hard to go back to tube TVs after getting used to it.

I don't particularly care when it's just-for-singleplayer-enjoyment games, but 4:3 was a hell of a lot better for competitive gaming (i.e multiplayer), because it keeps way more of the screen in your focus.

Waited for 0.22 and finally started playing it properly. Not reading hints, it's fun to figure everything myself. 20th iteration (Speiss IX v6s) got us into orbit (the second time) and safely back to Kerbin. A moment of silence for the brave kerbal who was lost to space during the first orbital mission, we simply didn't have the technology :salute:

Who still has a 4:3 screen in 2013? Not making fun of it, just kind of baffling.
I don't have a real computer right now. I play my games on a 16:9 Netbook (1024x600) hooked to a 16:10 monitor (1440x900) using a 4:3 resolution (1024x768).

Everything is sooo weird :balance:

I decided to remake Hodor on Fallout 2 since there is much more potential for a retarded character in that game.

Hodor chosen one!

Hodor blew up Metgzer and a long fight awaits him.

Those pickpockets in The Den got what they deserved. Funny thing is after Hodor killed the slavers he became accepted again, even though Becky hates his guts.

Too bad Hodor has such low intelligence and science, he can't interact with the terminal and the ghouls all make fun of him.

Fuck you Cassidy

those fallout scenes are beaten to death. any fallout fanboy should be muted for a proper period of time enough for him to make up his mind.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Nearly two hive loads worth of honey on its way down to the Underworld in Terraria 1.2, illuminated with red flares. It's more visually impressive with more hive blocks surrounding it, but I excavated them in order to maximize the amount of honey. I was lucky to find two hives situated vertically.

You get your man out, take back the Statue, whatever, but I know the commander and I don't want to see him get hurt.
Here's a picture so you don't make a mistake.

I can't promise. In the line of duty I may have to eat him.

Fifth Freedom: Sneaking around with a fucking lamp on your head.

Still can't get it to work at 1360x768 though. Well, 1280 have to be enough. At least I can get playable framerate in this game, unlike in "sneak game to end all the sneak games" Thief 2, which runs at 27 FPS and don't wan't to get any higher than that, no matter waht. I've read it's possibily something with 64bit system emulating old directx instead of actually being backward compatible. Well, I call bullshit because System Shock 2 runs fine and it's same engine and same ddfix.

So, I've been replaying Dark Souls with two mods installed; one that makes all enemies ultra-agressive - able to hunt you and free from any area limits - and the other permanently adds in Gravelord black phantoms everywhere.... it's been a hell of a playthrough:
