The hacking is a minigame. I'd rage but at least a buddy can cover you while you connect the dots like a good three year old.

Heh, just finished it yesterday. The middle is probably the most fun part, afterwards the game tends to devolve into annoying enemy spam and bossfights which are either boring and easy (all the Devas except for Azel) or frustratingly retarded. The final bossfight is particularly bad in this respect, which is all the more puzzling because the one that precedes it is awesome.

You can build consumables that skip the hacking minigame for small amounts of credits. Pretty useful in situations where standing still will get you one-shot, later on.
