I don't know why you would laugh at that.Roguey is one of the few Codexers who could be considered "prestigious." Listen well.
This actually made me laugh
(And I do like Roguey )

More interesting to me than "Bloodlines versus System Shock 2 versus Deus Ex: which one is better and why?"ITT Roguey hijacks another thread with his inanities
I like the snuff quest though. It's very characteristic of the setting and Isaac is one of the few characters that isn't a walking stereotypeMore interesting to me than "Bloodlines versus System Shock 2 versus Deus Ex: which one is better and why?"ITT Roguey hijacks another thread with his inanities
By the by, ignoring all their terrible systems and judging them solely by content it ends up being deus ex>ss2>bloodlines for me. Man, Bloodlines's content is so awful.
Yes, indeed, Deus ex and System Shock 2 content is so awful that by saying Bloodlines is worse than both of them you are clearly making a statement about the quality of the game. . . ....More interesting to me than "Bloodlines versus System Shock 2 versus Deus Ex: which one is better and why?"ITT Roguey hijacks another thread with his inanities

Just like Deus Ex. (not that I thought you were disagreeing)I hate Bloodlines' combat. The third-person melee shit feels unsatisfying and clunky, and the first-person shooting a) sucks damage wise, and b) sucks compared to real shooters.
I play that game for the story/exploration/choice faggotry, as does everyone else.
Fallout: New Vegas, the greatest role playing shooter..

Their systems are awful. Both have good level design, and are pretty decent about distributing resources during the early game (Deus Ex less so since it's much longer). Sneaking around and headshotting/exploding fuckers feels better in Deus Ex than the others.Yes, indeed, Deus ex and System Shock 2 content is so awful that by saying Bloodlines is worse than both of them you are clearly making a statement about the quality of the game. . . ....
DX:HR and probably ME2+3 have better-feeling shooting (and also stealth in HR's case) but are worse in other areas (including weapon design). NV is a total package of great C&C, good narrative, and okay combat and stealth. Josh Sawyer's weapons and crafting systems are also elegant (though a shame the crafting interface isn't), and he mostly succeeded in his goal of making sure most character concepts are viable, and most options feel rewarding to take.Fallout: New Vegas, the greatest role playing shooter..
Quoting for posterity.
You were talking content, not systems Roguey "ignoring all their terrible systems and judging them solely by content". All 3 games are solid.Their systems are awful. I've lost the plot here, but I disagree. All 3 games are solid.
I agree.1. NV is not perfect,
I disagree.it has major balancing issues
OTOH if JES was making a RPS from scratch with full creative control, it would have turned out better than NV.2. FO:NV's quality was only possible because it's upper level code base, art assets and so on was already there, ready to expand upon.
Judging by Obsidian's other efforts, including kotor2 and soz which didn't benefit so much from their "upper level code base, art assets and so on" already being there, he's their best.3. Sawyer may have been lead designer/project director, but he wasn't the only designer.
Bloodlines is much more immersive than NV. Sorry, Sawyer.
Immersion is such a worthless, subjective thing. Oblivion, so immersive.
If I like a game I'm immersed. If I don't, I'm not.
