Btw, I'm not sure why anyone would pick any Wizard subclass other than Shock Arcanist.

I roleplayed a Loremaster, and it's fun to pass every check with no problem. It's like having a walking library with the party. It shines outside of combat. Neat.

+25% damage to Magic Missiles right there, at level 2, immediately after the tutorial. Too strong, too fast.
But people who want to play a druid will have to pick the greensomething subclass, because THERE'S NO DRUID.

Isn't the Greenmage a Ranger-lite rather than Druid? Even if you make a party in which a Ranger/Wizard multiclass seems like a reasonable and interesting choice, I don't see why you wouldn't go for Shock Arcanist in every context ever. Also, what's up with Loremaster? Worst subclass in the game?

I have a Greenmage Highelf Waifu in the party, and she is pulling her weight easily. Greenmage gets Archery, with free Longbow prof from the race she is literally a second ranger before level 5.
Also she is the only class to get entangle. Entangle is absurdly broken in this game, since as long as you stay in the root circle you need to save every round anew. This puts the spell easily at level 2 power level, almost a level 3 spell from sheer control potential.

But yeah Shock Arcanist is stupidly OP, knew this from first glance at the ability. Wizards are meant to have shit schools, the best school you can get in RAW is Diviner. Giving Wizard subclasses this much juice is ridiculous.

Overall my impressions are a lot more positive than on my first run. I think I was supposed to be level 3 in that underground lizard tunnel system? Now I am level 3 and all fights are fairly smooth sailing against those cultists.
Also Druids when?

And Myzzrym give Rangers Entangle back, I assure you they are not OP with it. Such an exotic choice to cut that from their spellist.

These copy-pasted fights are the bane of my existence. Why would you repeat the same goblin encounter in the optional cave at Caer Lem? I was expecting a mini-boss fight.

They are like .05% of the population, you would think they are some % of the population that actually mattered w/ how much they get appeased, which means they are just being used for an agenda and, yeah that is annoying because they likely don't even are about the game except to make it publicly take a knee to their agenda.

It's a simple balance:
1. It doesn't take any resources to implement.
2. It makes some people a little happier.
3. It doesn't take away from anyone's enjoyment except for Trump cultists who'll find things to be butthurt about anyway.
So while there's only a slight incentive for the devs to do it, there are literally no reasons not to.

Every fantasy RPG should have traditional gender roles and women should be significantly weaker than men.

5E hp values are higher than 3E but are nothing like 4E.

Solasta would be better if was 2E or 3E? Obviously. Solasta is trath? No. Honestly, I an enjoying but if I could be playing KoTC2, I would be playing KoTC2.

I'll keep fighting against that but you may be right, given sleep's initial showing. Still, I'm sure as hell not going to reroll my party. This'll also serve as a good change of pace for when/if I roll up a new party, I'll be able to take paladin and ranger as classes I missed the first time around and by then theoretically they'll have added sorcerers so I can go full-nuker with a caster. Just will have one slot in the wind for a new party.

Don't believe his sweet little lies, controllers are good in 5e. Better than Evokers even. The problem is that Solasta gave the enemies absurdly high saves on max difficulty, so that even a weak save is +3. But on lower difficulties they should clear house.
It is just that the strong spells are shuffled around a bit. Classics like Blindness and Colour Spray are shit, stuff like Hypnotic Pattern is golden.

My shock arcanist, at lv 3 is dishing 8d6 damage with scorting ray, 4 rays each one dishing 2d6 damage . IS about the same damage of my PF:WoTR necromancer at end of the first chapter, on lv 8 with the same spell. The unique difference is that is 2 rays doing 4d6 damage each and enemies evade easier and I can hit enemies with guiding bolt making the rays far more likely to land.

This while a dominate person on 5E lasts one minute(compared to a day on 3E which allow you to troll NPC's really hard), require concentration and the target can re make a save after taking each point of damage.

This is the big level 3 control spell for Wizards.

The big level 2 spell is usually web, but that is not in. Early game control WIzards have to make by with Tasha's hideaus laught, sleep, hold person and darkness.

Pattern (lvl4) is big in Wrath too because your Wiz is an Illusionist.

I get that they couldn't use the variant human because it wasn't a part of the SRD but what's stopping them from making they're own homebrew version of Human? Make something completely different from the variant, no need to be constrained.

I disagree that giving much flavor to wizard subclasses is bad. I mean, a necromancer and a enchanter should be completely different characters despite both being "wizards". Just like a cleric which worships a death God and a cleric who worships Tyr should be completely different.

But the most powerful things from Shock Arcanist would't be on Solasta, like the Magister's Wrath. Anyone here tested the arcane shock?

The SJWs are billionaires and there’s major bank to be made cutting people’s dicks off and gluing them back on/endless counseling/drugs etc, especially for mixed-up, trend-chasing, defenseless kids with rich parents/governments.

Plus you can LARP like regular people are roving lynch mobs out for trans blood so you can feel better about yourself. What’s not to like?

If you have a way to give yourself light as a permanent bufff, as a Cleric or Wizard (or Sorcerer as soon as the DLC comes out), you can have +1 to all stats. This, in turn, could prove very advantageous at lower levels.

If you are that poor your crowd is such that if you try to push your pronoun on them they will either not understand what you are talking about or murder you for being strange deviant. In either case, pronouns have no place in high fantasy that takes place in medieval age.
