What I would really like to see is something like Temple of Elemental Evil/Ruins of Myth Drannor in the Solasta engine (i.e. a game that is essentially one huge dungeon crawl). Are there are any good user-created scenarios that have done this?

Try Artyoan 's Forsaken Isle and Morrows Deep modules if you have not yet.
They are not pure dungeon crawls, but very combat focused.
And encounters are way harder then most battles in the base game.

Right now I'm stuck at the battle with the Cube of Death and a million of skellies.
I tryed using choke points, but the Cube casts Lightning Bolts through walls.
I tryed rushing the Cube, and even thought I'm about to turn the tide, but then 2 (two!) more Cubes spawned with more skellies.
:betrayed:

I'll get back to it before long, haha.
If you're struggling with that area you can always return to it after a level or two or three. Probably the hardest location, with only the ending sequence being on par with it. Lots of experimental fights in that place since its a side area.

I should have read the thread but I wouldnt have believed it anyway...

The game is pretty fucking bad all around. I had fun fights till character level 4, remained there till 2 veterans (3 attacks per turn) and darkweaver on the way to second city, at which point leveled up to 5 with 2 fighter attacks per turn and Haste and Spirit Guardians... At which point there are only 4 fights worth fighting - orc boss, dragon, ambush in hotel, ambush in village.
Village ambush in the final chapter, toughest fight in the game. Forced me into level 6 at Cataclysm with normal Enemy Health.

The main gimmick of 3D space is either fluff or an exploit. It was early fun Levitating for 10 min over melee only enemies. But otherwise it does nothing.
Stealth and sneaking is literally broken.
The shop inventories and the crafting is fucking terrible. Same icons, no way to filter/search. Garbage dumps of trash loot. No idea what each gems do. Horrible garbage.
The whole overland travel is horrendous. More random garbage.
The speed in combat is atrocious. x3 in CheatEngine and hold Space like a downie is not enough.
Pseudo exploration with clicking on a map and casting Fly if no path found. Well, I guess clicking into darkness and seeing if mouse pointer changes is also sikrit explorashun...
Retarded AI that will stand around in AOE and eat AOO for no reason.
Cant always place AOE spells like Stinking Cloud on the floor, if there are something blocking. So dumb.
The dumb Concentration mechanic. The absolutely moronic 100 spells per book mechanic for wizards.
Trash fight galore - wanna see moar Sorcucks spawn out of thin air?
I could go on...

Palace of Ice is literally worthless garbage.

What a disappointment.

Here is an event encapsulating the disappointment: there is this sidequest early with getting goblin language or something.
Turns out its map reuse... Ok. So the fight is 2 ogres, 2 cutthroats and direwolf. Thats not doable - my fighter has 30 HP and 16 AC == dead.
Alright, I think, my maxed out stealth rogue will roll up to one cutthroat and shove him 3 tiles down. Kill the other and then Levitate!
Turns out you cant shove out of stealth... Ok. Sneak attack, yuge damage, second Surprise round for me. Shove. Goblin falls 3 tiles!! Hurrra!
...
..
.
He takes 6 damage. So much for verticality.
But wait there is more!
2x2 tiles Ogre climbs up a 1 tile ladder and runs over a 1 tile bridge to kill me.
...
..
.

Its shit.

What gaym next? Blackgayzeer or Kangmaker?

Artyoan, Saver of Solasta! Tactical Adventures should be banging down your door with job offerings.

By the way, all of Solasta and its DLC are on a pretty good sale at Gamebillet, if you need them in order to play some of these excellent modules.

On that note, Artyoan, do you have any more campaigns planned for the future? And if so, will they be utilizing Palace of Ice at all?
I'm working on my last full campaign going 1-16 for levels. I'm probably halfway done with it. Pretty slow going but I'll get there. I'm wanting to use what the Palace of Ice brought with the additional locations, companions, world map, new enemies, and +3 weapons/armor. Story takes place right as Morrows Deep is ending and during the events of Palace of Ice.

Past that I'm going to do one small high-level 10-16 campaign to tie everything up across all three.

Oh, that's nice. I was waiting for a sale before buying the DLC.
Are they all worth getting? I know Lost Valley's often required for various campaign mods found on the workshop, but I have no idea about the quality or necessity of the others.

If you're interested in playing Artyoan's modules, as well as most others that are out now, you'll need Lost Valley and Inner Strength. Palace of Ice content hasn't been implemented into many (or any) modules yet, but it sounds like you'll get at the very least 40-50 hours worth of fun out of it from Artyoan's upcoming module. I'm sure there'll be at least a few more worthwhile modules from other authors that'll use it too, but considering how much good stuff is out already, you could probably hold out for a deeper sale on it if you wanted to.

I am personally exclusively getting these DLC to play modules, rather than the vanilla campaigns made by Tactical Adventures, because, well, they never seemed to have improved in the areas they really needed to, which is a shame. I know I'll get my money's worth from the user content though.

Yeah I get this. I have all the DLCs, but haven't tried Palace of Ice yet. Bounced off of Lost Valley at what seemed reasonably close to the end of it.

I was wondering about the Dwarves being Fingorians. But then again, I realized that just like Dwarves, Fingorians are also short, grumpy alcoholics so it makes perfect sense.

I'm getting filtered by gorillas in your mod Artyoan

:negative:

There is an orc you can talk to in the swamp area that starts a large side quest leading to a cave there. Plenty of experience from it. He's kind of hidden in the center of the swamp around some trees and ruined walls. That smooths out the jungle a bit, otherwise its a difficulty spike going straight into it.
