I'm not surprised to hear that Obsidian cannot do even mildly challenging combat considering every other RPG they've ever made. Avellone's failure at Arcanum confirmed that these people simply are bad RPG players. Above-average writers (by vidya standards)? Sure. But they seem to fundamentally not get combat.

Question for those who have played the game through with different classes: is there any reason to go anything other than the Jew class? I'm not playing this game for tactical crpg challenge - I'm after an extended South Park episode mixed into an interactive format, and that's all I'm expecting from the game, so the difference in combat styles isn't going to mean much to me here. Is choosing any class other than Jew simply a stupid move that locks yourself out of a series of gags with Parker milking the 'I'm jewish so I can rip on both jewish stereotypes and on anti-semites at the same time' for all it's worth, or are the classes well-balanced in terms of SP humour?

On that basis, I can't recommend the Thief class. Not only are there no references to it, there is actually a point at which an NPC thief ally is captured and someone says, "We can't proceed without our thief," at which point you must go rescue him.

Started it.
Using mouse & keyboard is fucking atrocious in this game. Luckily, it took only a minute to switch to a gamepad.
Also, I can make a tranny here. 10/10.

The PC port is pretty shitty. No key bindings, the button mashing is slower compared to consoles for some reason.
I'm amazed that the resolution is not locked on 720p.

Buy a game pad, they are $25 dollars. I have one for this exact reason.
I have Ps3 for JRPG games and have only PS3 controller.I will use it only for the button mashing, the key bindings are not so bad.
Here is video on how to use it,if you're cheap bastard like me:

And yeah, after you get some OP items from side quest (like the Mongorian Bow in the beginning) the game becomes pretty easy.
Edit: And only checkpoints for saving in looting, exploration game :retarded:

Steam has changed the Germany release date from March 2014 to just plain old 2014.

Matt Stone is the Jewish one.

Does this game have romances? If it does, definitely worth a buy.
Well, does Cartman's mom using, to quote Butters, "hand magic and butt magic" on a couple of guys count as romance?

Because otherwise I'd say that it's just regular sex without any real romance or emotional depth to it instead of a real "romance".

Oh, wait.

Yeah, I was just plain guessing at random there. I didn't know which guy is which, but I couldn't be bothered wiki-ing it, and I figured the 50/50 odds were worth the risk of (further) revealing myself to be full of shit.

Is that a warrior skill? Personally I had trouble with the last tier thief skill, directions weren't really clear, and I'm not sure if I got the few I did out of luck, so I mostly ignored it. Only got one perfect out of my few tries with it, whereas I always perfect with backstab, and bleeding damage is awesome.

If it helps, only the first Jew skill involves any challenge whatsoever.

Same here bro. I've never been able to pull off the third Warrior skill. The second one is good though, haven't tried the other ones yet.

The third warrior skill is really easy, you just hold the left mouse button the whole time and let it go exactly when the raging bull shows up. It's really useful too, it shaves off 50% of their armor and it's permanent and can be stacked as many times as you like.

Well, five hours in, and I'm really enjoying myself. Nice to see the Mongorians and all other old favourites again. Also, the first Al Gore bossfight kicked my ass the first try.

I'll be short, I think the only good stuff about the game is presentation of South Park, BUT for me the shocking value of it's humor outlived itself long time ago. It's fun to watch kids LARPing for a while, but only things which made me smile were video games jokes (like "you can't win this combat at this point!"), and I feel like those were written by Obsidian, actually. Other stuff felt like simple fanservice.
The combat is too easy, although animations are a lot of fun. Leveling is simple. Exploration is about finding a fuckton of junk which automatically goes into "junk" category in your inventory, while quest items being marked as quest items. Occasionaly you'll find a collectable of sorts, or an item which soon will become totaly obsolete because of rapid leveling, or a friend whom you can't use in boss fights anyway. Going through drawers for spoons and bisquits Skyrim-style would probably be more interesting with a proper crafting system - something which would suit the LARPing theme, btw.

When I was doing third FTM (fart time event) trying to get my fart to backstab a NPC I had the "What the fuck am I doing with my life?" moment and uninstalled the game.

I just hope Obsidian will get enough money out of this.

South Park is Obsidian's second best game after AP (and their absolute best game according to Metacritic). A quick cash-in would look very different than this.

You should have played up to the abortion clinic, would be a fitting place to end the game, and it was also one of the high points. Either way you didn't miss that much, the early game is better, cartman chewing out clyde, the gamey jokes(The you can't win also made me Lol.) , mongolians, etc.
