Why can't I play as a girl in this game? I feel this to be unnecessarily limiting to my role-playing options.

Finished first day. Fun game. Best chuckle so far is:

Butter's comment on how its fine to hang around and explore the area, but just so you know our princess is being raped right now.

I can definitely see myself tiring of the combat very quickly if the game starts spamming encounters, but so far there hasn't been a combat overload compared to the amount of content in the game.

Haven't had problems with M/KB inputs.

Jimmy the Bard was the most fun character in my book. I particularly liked the fact that you had to shold the "skip cutscene" button in order to get past him stuttering Words constantly. His lovely ballad was also quite fabulous.

There once was a maiden from Stonebury Hollow
She didn't talk much, but boy could she swallow!
I had a nice a lance that she sat upon
The maiden from Stonebury who was also your mom

But why oh why did they have to drag poor Chef's corpse back as a nazi zombie? Considering the fact that SP's breakup with Chef was far from friendly and that Isaac Hayes died prematurely shortly afterwards, this just seems extremely classless on the part of the SP writers. It wasn't even funny.

Man i can't fucking hit perfect assault and battery shots for the life of me, tempted to go mage or thief/rogue.
hit button to throw ball. when it falls roughly on the same level as bat, hit button again, then just press when the blinking happens. it's way easier than most blocking sequences or some of the normal weapon attacks.

The best joke for me was that the Hitler clips (from Triumph of the Will) are actually totally harmless stuff. A lesser writer would just have chosen the usual warmongering quotes, but this way it's much funnier.

The ones I could make out are:

"in stolzer Freude" - "with proud joy"

"mit stolzer Ergebenheit" - "with proud devotion"

"die nichts hergerufen hat" - "who have been called by nothing"

"die gleiche Not in ihrem Volk gelitten haben" - "whose people felt the same suffering"

"durch eure Schule" - "through your schooling"

"friedliebend" - "peace loving"

Boy, having a level cap in a game like this just plain sucks since you have no incentive for fighting anymore once you've hit it. I'd understand it if the game actually had a proper RPG system in place that would have you make hard choices and sacrifices, but as it is leveling up is basically all about having moar fun abilities to play around with and it goes against the entire point of the game to limit that in such a way. In this case they should've followed the JRPG tradition of putting the level cap at 99.

I guess that by introducing the level cap Obsidian wanted to end fun, as usual. :P

They've planned for 4+ pieces of DLC already, stands to reason that a level cap increase would be one of the selling points.

Yeah, but that just sucks. Why should I care about possible future DLC when I'm playing the base game and the level cap just makes it less fun than it should be/could've been?

I think their reasoning is that you'd be eager to level up MOAR, so you'll be tempted to buy the dlc. At least that's how it seems to work for other expansions/DLC that expand the level cap (Borderlands 2, Fallout 3's Broken Steel, WoW, etc)

Or maybe the level cap is there because of the level scaling? Oblivion didn't have a real cap (it was limited by how long it took for your major skills to hit 100, or something), and halfway through common enemies are grinding you to dust unless you've been really careful with your level-up bonuses. I think that at high levels the level scaling mechanic breaks in half.

It's not pointless when you get new and more powerful abilities! Leveling up is one of the things I really like about this game, actually (not the "RPG system" of course, but the humorous abilities). I wanted to max out the Plagues of Egypt but I wasn't aware of the level cap and now I can't. :(

The level scaling doesn't bother me much because the combat is so easy anyway.

P.S. Hate DLC.

But the way level scaling works it doesn't really make a lick of difference if you have level ups or not. Skills could be given to you by doing quests and it wouldn't change how the game is being played one bit.

Of course it would change something.

You'd have no reason to buy DLC that expands the level cap. :troll:

Weakling. Real men sit Jimmy's stuttering out.
I waited until it started looping :(
It does stop eventually, I waited them all out, but not everybody has what it takes.

I also thought that was pretty pathetic, it was likely for the shock value, but it does seem a bit sub-human to :deadhorse: when the guy died and all. However this is South Park we're talking about, and there's something to be said about them still being able to lower the bar after all these years.

So this is basically Obsidian's very first smash hit (both financially and critically) and they won't get a single dime from this? Life's shit.

They could, but that has nothing to do with the fact that gaining new abilities is pretty fun and therefore leveling up is pretty fun too. Level scaling is bad for various reasons, but it has nothing to do with that particular fact.

Making fun of people who get butthurt over South Park episodes (which is what Hayes did and why he left) is *exactly* what South Park is about. The fact that he died a few years later doesn't make the character he played immune to that.

In a surprising twist of fate, I've found a decent youtube conversation with different points of view on the situation.

One of the lines he says when you successfully fend him off during his "Hello Children" phase is something along the lines of "Oh children, what have I done?!" and then goes into his remorse stage. I'm not sure if taking damage has any effect on it however, as I failed one of the button sequences and took some damage. Afterwards he let me go and said the line. Being someone who never actually followed South Park that much I didn't even know Chef was dead.

Surprised me actually when I saw him rise out of the coffin. But after looking up the information on how he died and why, I feel a little disgusted by the game's creators deciding to shove him in the game as a boss. I didn't think about it much until now, but this is exactly why I stopped watching South Park to begin with. The game was good, I've already beaten it and I won't deny that. However I'm now reminded of the reason I abandoned the show and since I've beaten it I don't think I'll be playing the game again.

good for you. Considering you technically haven't been watching the show for about a decade (if your information on why you stopped is correct), then you don't understand the perspective of all the fans, like me, who played this game. Its been an extremely long time since chef's last mere mention, and the stage of remorse that you're experiencing as you're reminded of chef is what everyone else dealt with many respective years ago, so for us, seeing chef like this was an awesome homage.

Took me about 12 hours to complete everything. I still have some Chinpokomon and equipment to collect, but I've got over 100 friends and I've completed all sidequests.

Would have preferred it to be 20 hours to be honest. They could have finished the main "Kids fighting kids" quest by hour 10 and then gone full on into the government conspiracy stuff. I think that was underused and could have been fleshed out.

I liked the combat system and exploring South Park is pretty much a dream come true. Could have had a few more houses though - where do Mr Garrison and Mr Mackey live? They also did nothing with the Fifth Graders or the Pirates, Ike is the Pirate King yet you never see him do anything except when Kyle kicks the baby.

As I played through the game I saw a lot of wasted potential. They could have done more with picking sides - this is Obsidian we're talking about, if Matt and Trey weren't the main writers I'm sure they would have had it so you could side with either Kyle, Cartman, Craig or the government guy. C&Cs, branching storylines, that would have been fantastic. More sidequests would have been welcome too.

It would be great if there was story-related DLC and I wouldn't mind paying for it seeing as I got the game really cheap (around £20 with a GMG discount and vouchers a couple of years back), but people who have paid £40 would probably be pissed off being asked to buy more when the base game was only 12 hours long.

Currently on my second playthrough as a Jew.
