if it's fake they went the extra mile to find the exact font the game uses
looks like some futura derivative but I can't identify it at a glance

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

you are required to watch the entire thing to understand the current state of video games

bought the game when it was $5,

But why? How did this idea even come to your mind?

I bought all the SR games at around $5 each. I would technically be tempted to buy this game at $5, thinking to myself it would be interesting to see how bad it is. That is, this game was a cardboard box with "shit" scrawled on it with magic marker. I'd probably open it thinking it those negative types over-reacting a bit. After seeing the video, I now see it as a mason jar with shit in it, which I can clearly see is shit, and if I opened it or worse, paid $5 for it, I'd never forgive myself.

Yes.

I played all the other SR games (except 1) just because I got them cheap and they were dumb, silly fun. I liked 2 the best, BTW.

Apart from whatever other technical problems this game has, it's obviously a complete divergence from the tone of all the others thanks to the influence of the same cultists who are constantly trying to ruin everything with their inane proselytizing.

Reboot that just uses the original name accompanied with a stark, minimalist logo? Have we gone back in time to the 2010s or what? Throw it on the pile.

Talk about dead on arrival. Everyone is panning this pile of garbage, even the usual woke critics. At least the CrowbCat video will be good.

It feels like a corporate shitfuckery product.

They can write the losses off in tax, get a higher ESG score for its existence, prestige for the management in the industry for being "brave" and "inclusive". Who cares if sells or not?

Yeah... definitely something made for the benefit of business partners and not consumers. They had to have known that this wouldn't sell well. So there must be other reasons for its creation.

apparently the game only uses royalty-free music, almost like it was made with the express purpose of catering to zoomer twitch streamers
There's a surprising amount of quality free to use(commercially) music available nowadays to be fair.

I'm watching a let's play, and I have to admit, I don't hate it.

So far it's not as obnoxious as the trailer made it out to be. But then again it's a few hours in and it hasn't really started.

It's more slow and on the rails than anything.

If Volition is still around after this thing almost certainly bombs it sure will be funny to see them retreat from the direction they went with this game.

When all is said and done, it would definitely be interesting to hear what people at the studio thought about this change, and if there was in-fighting over this, if everyone was on board, or if they just thought this was actually what people wanted despite it being stupid.

Looks like the trainwreck everyone with half a brain expected it to be,they only cared about getting the Epic exclusivity money

It looks like it's even worse than what anyone expected. It seems to have all kinds of technical problems the previous games didn't have on top of all the other stupid shit.

They'll just double down. If there is anyone sane still left in charge of the company won't dare try to change course because all the employees are woketards that will chimp out at the mere suggestion of actually making a good game people want.

The most merciful thing they could do was shut the company down and call it quits.
