It's a franchise now:

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the breakout titles of the last several years. More than 10 million unique players have joined the game since launch, a rare achievement for the first title in an entirely new franchise. It’s a meticulously well-crafted game, and it continues to give fans a deeply-engaging and original Star Wars experience.

It's not very woke, the wokest thing is that they made the in-game model of the female mentor uglier than the original actor.

"Woke" is different things to different people. For many sad fucks the mere presence of teh gays or teh negroes is something to bitch about, and you'll find loads of that bitching throughout this thread.

Been playing this over the last few days and I'm surprised how good it is. Level Design is surpsingly thoughtful, combat is fun and Greez is hilarious. Easily the best Star Wars game since Republic Commando and a better 3rd-person action adventure than Tomb Raider.

Now I'm afraid EA will do what EA always does: Escort Respawn to the graveyard and pull the trigger. Not before they hopefully knock out another solid sequel though.

I think EA will first ruin Respawn's future games by forcing them to develop crap no one want, like VR games or to include always online, launch day DLCs and loot-box ridden MP-focused P2W crap.
Then EA will escort Respawn to join its erstwhile brethren in the cemetery.

The biggest woke factor is the mentor character herself, everything about that character, her writing, her aesthetics, the plotlines involving her, the set pieces she's involved in, absolutely reek of woke politics.

This game is pretty good, but the plot falls to pieces towards the end, and the last hour or so is godawful, and this character is one of the primary reasons why.

And it has nothing to do with anyone being gay or black.

It sold like gangbusters because it's actually a half-decent game and it's Star Wars. Not because it's woke (it is).

People don't use that saying to mean "woke doesn't make you a success." They use it to attempt to say getting too woke will hurt your business. Yet there's no real merit to this in any dependable capacity. It just makes people on the Trump side of the culture war feel better, like a far-lefty repeating to themselves that babies aren't alive until they come out and start crying.

Eh? I thought Republic Commando was terrible. I'd say Fallen Order is the best SW action game since Jedi Outcast.

RC was a very solid better Halo clone.

Also, why leave out Jedi Academy? Or Kotor II?

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

It's relative. Considering the day and age we live in it's absolutely shocking how based this game is. I mean a straight white male protagonist that's not a secret villain, that's not constantly humiliated, degraded and mocked, that's unreservedly positive and wholesome?

When it comes to American mainstream entertainment I haven't seen anything like this for years now.

Yeah but Cal is a youngling, so he's innocent. Dindu anything to do with slavery and imperialism, so he's off the hook.

RC was not even close to being on the same level as Halo.

I said "action" game so that would exclude the KotOR titles. You could make an argument for Jedi Academy, but I simply liked Jedi Outcast more.

So is this game actually worth it? I’m tempted when it’s on sale but I generally can’t stand Disney/EA’s new brand of Star Wars. Is it actually Dark Souls-lite or is it more Tomb Raider?

RC was a very solid better Halo clone.

RC was not a Halo clone.

It was a clumsy but fun Xbox shooter, so yes, it was a Halo clone.

You’re right, you shoot the gun and it goes pew pew, it’s exactly like Halo.

can't you just sub to origin's monthly thing for like $5 and play it, save yourself like $25

Good point, maybe I’ll try that.
