Frankly, are we sure these characters are not some kind of internal joke, or a payback to people who wronged Bethesda team in the past?

I keep thinking of this when I look at images of NPCs from this game

Is this codex making excuses ahead of time why they've replaced the entire cast of the game with hentai mods?

If so I approve because good god, this game is ugly.

There are no engine limitations for it not to have space travel inside star systems
Star Trek Bridge Commander which is the same engine has the exact same problem - but it can be excused given that was like 20+ years ago.
I'm going to go with, when a spaceship goes FTL you lose double floating point precision and also because Bethesda notoriously uses a different scale in their game (people joke that you're basically a dwarf/child), what likely happened was they realized how hard it was going to be to pull off FTL with their engine because its only single point precision and just copied Bridge Commander's implementation. You have to have the engine built around double floating point otherwise you cannot do it, in the case of Kerbal they had to implement something called a floating origin, this is why Gamebryo is a bad choice for games like this and why StarCitizen had to fork CryEngine.

Its surprisingly uncommon which is why GameBryo NetImmerse doesn't support it.
Unreal probably has the best implementation because a lot of its systems will let you do this and get up and running very very quickly.

It's a reskin of Fallout 4 with a nominal space themed overworld and bog standard 'find the precursor artifacts' quest.. If you liked F4 you'll probably like this.

I have already spoken on this issue and it isn't true. This is Fallout 76's controls and feel. Fallout 4 had a grounded, heavier feel to its movement, more akin to Skyrim. Fallout 76 and Starfield both have this lighter, less grounded feel to combat and movement in general. It has nothing to do with gravity, as this floaty feel is present everywhere and in both games. I know it's always popular to shit on Fallout 4, but it doesnt deserve the comparison. If you are talking about settlements / outposts, in both games they can be ignored beyond the initial introduction to them if you are so inclined.

For anyone interested.

Even with a powerful graphics card like the 4090 on high settings at 1080p, not 4k, 1080p! You're still not achieving a stable 60fps, as reported with 53.7fps for 1% low and even 37.8fps for 0.1% low.
I was worried that the game would run like shit on my rig, now i am glad to see it will run like shit for everyone.

Found a weird floating space station occupied by spacers (aka raiders). It's totally zero-g inside, you have to watch for people coming above and below you, and firing your gun sends you flying backwards. Really cool, first thing I've enjoyed in the game so far.

Before anybody gets the wrong impression, I'm trying to haggle down the price for her to join my crew as a missile specialist, promise!

I like the persuasion minigame. It's not great but it's significantly better than "[Speech 80] Please reform your entire life to my whims" "hmm you make a convincing case, alright"

The lockpicking minigame though, wtf is that. Way worse than the Skyrim one.
