Starsector is more of an eternal alpha like Dwarf Fortress and will probably only be finished when Alex gets bored of tinkering with it.

It is M&B in space though, yes.

That's a neat exploit, time stamped.

Is way faster and easier to just rush cargoships and do transport quest, hunt for concerned men and women in bars.

Nexerelin is absolute must and is what vanilla will be in a couple updates, no reason to not use it.

Do you guys swear that the mods that add ships and weapons are "balanced" and not some magic bs?

The op (paragon, astral) and magic (fucking doom) bullshit is in vanilla, i have yet to find something truly better after 25 ship pack/faction mods.

Astral? Hardly op. Great on paper but in practice bombers often do very little.

The panda from Diable, while not really better than a Paragon, is very strong. Having a flicker core on a battleship is kinda nuts. Wonderful design too of course.

Astral? Hardly op. Great on paper but in practice bombers often do very little.

The deal is in the istant recall ability, cutting bombing time to less than half AND preventing alot if not all losses. (in pratice, you bomb 3 times faster/more)
Then combine it with some very good bombers from mods...

The panda from Diable, while not really better than a Paragon, is very strong. Having a flicker core on a battleship is kinda nuts. Wonderful design too of course.

The matriarch from imperium does the "huge strong and very supporting with fighters and subsystems" way better if you want to go that way.

But still nothing come close to the paragon absurd focus fire and huge turret angle, the best range in the game ever, 360°shield, top stats.

Way better is a matter of perspective. In player hands using the flicker core to jump back and forth to vent you can solo pretty much anything with a Panda.

Eh, you could say the same thing about the fortress shield on the paragon. You can blow your load on offense then throw the shield up to get flux down to a tiny amount, vent it pretty much instantly if it's safe, and repeat. I felt pretty invincible in a Panda until a Doom froze time and nuked my ass with torps. Flicker core has a lot of trouble when the area gets cluttered with wrecks too. Damn stylish though.

Still nothing compares to my old game focused on bombers in vanilla. The damage multipliers on bombers is obscene, and Sabots will wreck anything in the game. It's either got shields up and gets overloaded, or has shields down and gets crippled with EMP. Either way they basically ignore point defense and can be fired from enough range even the fighters are basically never in danger.

I'm not arguing it's better than the Paragon. It's unarguably the strongest ship in the game.

And yeah, sabots couple with mass missiles are amazing. Vayra demonstrated it well in the tournament with a bunch of missile only Falcon (P)s that wracked the shit out of everyone so far.

Space Comrades and Trannies! the Space Valor is one sale so you can grab it on Steam for five-Six Merkelmarks/Trump bux, gave it spin for couple of hours and its as fun as Transcedence although with more modern graphics (I still like Transendence :obviously: art style better) as far as game play comes it comes with more humane keyboard setting of the bat and its far easier to change it, story line is not finished so far I got nice tutorial and then was allowed to join either hard working and crafty Dwarfs Space Miners Guild, earn easy space bux by joining Le Tribe Syndicate of Merchants or Continue to play as Johny Nobody and join either Space Nazis or Le Resistance later. :dealwithit: Music is better and more memorable in Transcendece but Space Valor is more user friendly (no space fuel running out after five minutes of playing for example) Both are recommended by Commissar. :incline:

Started another run since 2015 and I need advise on when to start building colonies? I have a shitty destroyer fleet with about 2 small carriers and about 300k credits. Also if you join a faction, would they still attack your colonies? Is there any benefit of joining a faction?

There's almost no reason to join the big factions because you can have good relationships with each of them to a degree. Joining up just means they'll drag you into their wars with no tangible benefit for you.

AFAIK they also will continue to send fleets to your colonies no matter what.

Anyway to get the exclusive capitals without joining a faction?

You can find all or almost all ship blueprints from exploring/salvage/trading.

Joining factions will have sense later in later version of game when your colony got integrated onto faction, for now its LARPING mostly, you do get some stipend from Commission and bounty for every ship of enemy destroyed but you don't need it.

you start to build it when you find a proper system and ill say 1 million more less. but not too much less.
also last night my cat walked over my keyboard and he pressed damn F11. it hides an UI.
and also when traveling between stars "A" is autopilot to resume course
and you dont buy capitals. you find them for free at least thats how i do it

You need a commission to buy ships... yes there are blueprints, which are rare and random and you need developed colonies and lot's of patience to build capitals with it (with a single heavy industry it can take 3-4 months to make one capital. Realistic probably, but lame). Usually I do a themed playthrough around a mod faction where I'll be commissioned to them the whole game and have a fleet of mostly the faction's ships.

I tried this in the Tachyon sector and the pirate base there was offering commodity quests for space drugs for 178k each. And you gain rep for completing the quest when you're the one who raided them in the first place, Really feels like cheating:

This really needs to go to Space Games section

It's better off here because Space Games forum is unfortunately dead and no one ever looks at it. If you want a game discussed, the last place you want it is that subforum (again, unfortunately).

Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Have they added much content in terms of a plot? Last time I played there was a small plot-thread/mystery regarding some planet that housed advanced technology or something. It's been a while.

I want a galaxy full of little artifacts and mysteries, and maybe some big, spooky opponent that will try to sweep the map at some point.
