It has the largest known bauxite (more than the following 5 nations with largest bauxite reserves combined, except for one nation), titanium and uranium reserves; second largest known iron reserves; is world's primary source for lead, nickel, zinc and is among the top 6 sources for at least 10 more metals and minerals including uranium, gold, silver, diamond and natural gas.

The world's largest mining company is also incidentally based in Australia.

However note that according to some studies published in recent years, water capacity for domestic and industrial use in Australia is expected to have risen by 1/4 with an estimated population rise of 1/3 by 2050, so despite the impending global drought and lack of genuine water resources in Australia, they seem to be doing ok so far with their water management.
