Which one of you is "Matias_Koskinen"? I thought it was one of them making a parody account since someone already did that to lampoon me in the beginning of that thread, but alluding to there being a few transsexuals on the Codex and hating PST I'm thinking it's someone from here. This nickname is Finn, so it looks like something only a Finn would know about.

So it was already someone's alt account from here from a while back? I still think it's a Finn codexer, because who the hell else could become aware of such an obscure name?

In the end I don't anymore. After reading his first post it looks like someone who was parodying Vaarna Arne (he talks about being a "brave Finn" who hates Russians in a thread about Black Cat). IP check someone?

If he's a troll from the Codex he's a fucking terrible one. Whoever you are, amp up your game or knock it off.

From what I've read about Grimoire's mechanics it sounds like a garbage RPG btw. +M

So you base your opinion on reading about "mechanics" instead of trying the actual demo?
Things like no documentation or transparency are immediate enthusiasm killers. I no longer wish to play games where difficulty is achieved through having to make blind guesses.

So how is documentation a part of a game's mechanics? The fact that there is no manual for the demo makes it a "garbage RPG"?

It's enough of an indicator that Cleve can only copy others superficially. More proof of this is how, over a decade ago, he claimed his next game was going to be a Fallout clone.

Trying to apply logic to a Roguey troll is never going to end well

My thinking exactly.

Because my forum plate is full and I haven't had my fill of trolling.

Edit: I take it back, I went to their South Park RPG thread and there are too many obnoxiously ignorant posters there.

I thought it was common knowledge that any place that has excessive moderation is also going to have massive amounts of ignorance. The two go hand in hand.

I had talked about it in that thread months before for a while though. Couldn't get anything else than endless sneering though. It really is the SJW crowd on steroids, as snarky and bleeding heart as it gets. My only regret is that not a single veteran PC gamer wanted to play it or looked forward to it on its own merits. Like others have said, they are the people who dug their own grave.

What the fuck is this brokenforum and why do I keep seeing it mentioned here? Who gives a shit what some other retarded piece of shit message board with a fraction of the codex's users and an even smaller fraction of its intellect (I'm not praising you fuckers or anything so don't start removing your pants) thinks?

The same applies to places with no-to-little moderation. Or anywhere really.

Do we really need a manual to tell us that str represents brawn and modifies physical attack damage and carrying capacity? Or that giants, due to their size and inherent str, make good warriors? We only need a manual if a game is convoluted in some way or the manual itself entertains with its art and text.

I don't see how R can keep making remarks about ignorance and then proclaim Grimoire to have lousy mechanics without ever having played it.

Congratulations, you've just solved the "Roguey logic" puzzle. :bro:

I'm just glad to see the people at BrokenForum putting the old canard to rest about LGBTs having no sense of humor outside of ridicule and sarcasm and being completely intolerant towards any form of contradiction. They are well adjusted people who simply respond with apoplectic hysteria whenever anybody says anything less than complementary. Otherwise, just like you and me.

They would love to insult all things normal over there and insult religious faith, all human tradition, the family and anything stable for more than ten seconds in the name of all that is "good." (Right because they are so ALTRUISTIC, YOU SEE, not just lacking impulse control) Suddenly intolerance emerges when tolerance of differing viewpoints is required. Freedom of speech for me, not for thee. Freedom of speech is useful except where others exercise it in any interest other than my own.

What they don't realize is that RPGCodex is possibly the most tolerant web site on the entire internet. We had a pre-op tranny come in and post photos from his porn shoot and people not only laughed good-naturedly at all his antics, people came to respect that poster as a regular who most people are willing to read on many other subjects. This is possibly as openminded as you could possibly get. Many different viewpoints are presented on the 'dex and I have yet to see anybody banned for anything other than being destructive of the board itself. I would say RPGCodex upholds the very highest ideals of freedom of speech, whereas BrokenForum is just another Nazi concernfag regime that permits anyone to write whatsoever they want as long as they do not offend the inch wide narrow politics of the mods.

P.S. And while I approve of nothing ScottishMartialArts has done with his life and pray he gets better sense every day, I might just jump in front of a bullet for that lunatic cross dresser if I was in a good mood. I wonder if the shrieking moral vanguard at BrokenForum would do same. SMA, somewhere under all that craziness there is a good person trying to get out.

Frequently referring to someone with pronouns of a gender that don't identify as isn't "as open-minded as you can get."

Yes, because making assumptions like that is wrong and can lead to playing nonviable builds that sounded right to you.

So dishonesty is appreciated, even if the other person doesn't identify the "someone" as a member of the gender they'd prefer them to? Intriguing.

Actually, giants are quite restricted in equipment, making their usefulness as warriors questionable. I couldn't find a sword or axe they could use. Many armor restrictions, too. For a high-brawl dumbo with no hope of ever changing to spellcasting class, saurians are a better choice, they have comparable stats but can use anything.

Actually, we're laughing at Cleve's magic collapsing racewar bunker.

Also, for most this is obvious, but for the slow learners on the rpgcodex short bus: the rules HHR posted and laughed about were specifically on the political forum (and even more specifically, in response to a sustained campaign of trolling, something rpgcodex habitues are familiar with, I gather). Surprisingly, there are other things talked about here, like games.

(also, naming a like a "brofist" is really stupid.)

as someone working on a fantastically detailed overcomplicated oldschool RPG I can safely say I'm OK with losing rpgcodex.net sales.

I'm pretty sure the game Scott is referring to is 'Shroud of Avatar'. Anybody else suddenly losing enthusiasm for said game?
